(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Face Trial

4. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested and Detained
5. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xue and Ms. Zou Anping Arrested and Detained
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning City] Mr. Yang Arrested
7. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhong Peizhen Persecuted
8. [Daxinganling City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuchun Harassed
1. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Face Trial
Mr. Zhou Hongliang, who was arrested and detained in April 2023, was scheduled to be tried in court on the morning of September 8, 2023. Three other practitioners, Ms. Zhou, 84, Ms. Nie, 86, and Ms. Long, over 70, are to be tried at the same time. The three elderly practitioners are not detained.
2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Jun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Jun from Deyuan Town of Pidu District was arrested on May 24, 2023, and her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. She has been detained for more than three months. Her family is not allowed to visit her.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Qinzhen Arrested
Ms. Luo Qingzhen from the Jiang’an District was arrested by officers from the Houhu Police Station when she was distributing information about Falun Gong on August 31, 2023. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
4. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested and Detained
Several practitioners were arrested on August 3, 2023. Mr. Wei Wu, 50, was released on bail pending trial on August 4, 2023. Ms. Qi was also released on August 4, 2023. Ms. He Zhoujun, 55, Ms. Gong Taiqing, around 60, Mr. Leng Shunchang, 57, and Ms. Peng Huayun, 71, are still detained. Ms. Peng Huayun is on a hunger strike.
Ms. Liu Yanhua, wife of Mr. Leng Shunchang, was tricked and went to the Xicheng Police Station. She was arrested and released on bail pending trial that evening.
The police confiscated printers, printing materials, and a computer from Ms. He Zhoujun’s and Mr. Leng Shunchang’s homes. The police also twice ransacked Ms. Peng Huayun’s home.
5. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xue and Ms. Zou Anping Arrested and Detained
Ms. Wang Xue and Ms. Zou Anping were arrested and their homes were ransacked. They are being held in the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City.
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning City] Mr. Yang Arrested
Mr. Yang, 70, from Lizigou, Dongzhou District, was arrested after he talked to people about Falun Gong in the Liqianhu Market, Tieling City on September 6, 2023.
7. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhong Peizhen Persecuted
Ms. Zhong Peizhen was arrested at home on June 14, 2020, and was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and fined 30,000 yuan by the East District Court on September 28, 2021. Ms. Zhong was detained in the Guangdong Women’s Prison and released in July 2023. After she was released she was harassed constantly by village officials.
8. [Daxinganling City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuchun Harassed
Ms. Zhang Xiuchun from Tahe County was arrested when she distributed information about Falun Gong on March 17, 2023. She was interrogated in the county police department and released that evening.
Ms. Zhang has been constantly harassed by local police and community staff members. Her case was broadcast on the county cable TV. Information about her family, including the names and workplaces of her son and her daughter-in-law, were announced during the TV program which brought harm to them.
