(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in India organized events at two press clubs in the south-central city of Hyderabad on September 19 and October 16, 2024. Multiple media reporters were in attendance during both sessions and over 15 reports were published in print and electronic media afterward. The press coverage of Falun Dafa was positive.
Since the 18th century, Hyderabad has been known as the “City of Pearls” because the rulers loved precious gems and made the city a pearl trading hub—a tradition that continues today.
In order to raise awareness about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa in China, practitioners contacted two press clubs in the city: the Somajiguda Press Club and the Basheerbagh Press Club.
“We decided to spread the message by working with the media,” said P. Subra, the practitioner who organized the event. “Following the suggestion from the first press club, we decided to introduce Falun Dafa at the Basheerbagh Press Club. We contacted the president who invited us to hold a session on October 15.
“The reporters requested that we speak in our regional language, Telugu. They were shocked when I told them that the practice was initially allowed in China but later the CCP began persecuting practitioners and harvesting their organs and showed the reporters some of the related photos,” he said.
The practitioners displayed Falun Dafa’s main text Zhuan Falun and demonstrated the exercises. They touched on some topics mentioned in the book, especially physical and mental health benefits. Multiple media outlets covered the event and praised Falun Dafa.
