(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

7. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Detained for Six Weeks and Counting
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Shuxian and Ms. Miao Yawen Arrested
9. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Liu Yunqiao Detained for Two Months and Counting
10. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Prison Denies Ms. Li Xianghong and Ms. Li Jing Denied Family Visits
1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Jun Facing Trial
Mr. Chen Jun, around 50, from the Jiangxia District was scheduled to stand trial in the Hongshan District Court on the afternoon of September 25, 2024.
Mr. Chen was arrested with four other practitioners at his home by Zhifang Police Station officers in the Jiangxia District at noon on June 16, 2022. He was detained in Wanji Mental Hospital until on April 8, 2023. Due to being tortured in custody, he fainted several times when he returned home and had heart failure. The doctor found a large area of his heart was not getting enough blood and put in a stent. He remained very weak after the operation. Despite his condition, officers of the Shifang Police Station submitted his case to the Hongshan District Procuratorate in November 2023.
2. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Juying Arrested
Ms. Zhang Juying, 78, from Jinyu Town was arrested at home by three Jinyu Town Police Station officers on September 18, 2024. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Beijing] Ms. Wu Fangling and Her Husband Mr. Wang Jianmin Arrested
Ms. Wu Fangling and her husband Mr. Wang Jianmin were arrested by officers from the Xiadu Police Station in the Yanqing District on the afternoon of September 23, 2024. The police accused them of visiting overseas websites.
Ms. Wu’s arrest came only seven months after she finished serving two years and eight months for practicing Falun Gong. Her pension was suspended during her prison term, and she was in the process of seeking reinstatement of her pension when she was arrested.
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Kai Admitted to Prison
Mr. Li Kai is being held in the sixth division of Shenyang City First Prison. His family visited him on September 19, 2024, the first time since his prison admission. The guards previously denied his family visits with the excuse that he didn’t renounce Falun Gong.
5. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yu Mei and Ms. Wu Shaochuan Detained
Ms. Yu Mei, 57, and Ms. Wu Shaochuan were arrested on September 16, 2024. They are being held in the Zhanjiang City Detention Center.
6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Liu Shichun Arrested
Liu Shichun from the Fangzi District was arrested at his or her own barbershop on September 22, 2024.
7. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Detained for Six Weeks and Counting
Ms. Zheng was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was followed and arrested by officers from the Dongsan Police Station on August 30, 2024. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of founder of Falun Gong, and a media player. She is being held in the Gongzhuling City Detention Center.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Shuxian and Ms. Miao Yawen Arrested
Ms. Pan Shuxian and Ms. Miao Yawen were arrested on August 6 or 7, 2024. Ms. Pan is being held in the fourth cell in Weizigou Detention Center.
9. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Liu Yunqiao Detained for Two Months and Counting
Liu Yunqiao from Fengzheng Township of Jize County was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by Fengzheng Township Police Station officers in late July 2024. Liu is now in the Handan City Third Detention Center.
10. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Prison Denies Ms. Li Xianghong and Ms. Li Jing Denied Family Visits
Ms. Li Xianghong and Ms. Li Jing, both from Liquan County, are serving wrongful terms in the Shaanxi Province Women’s Prison for practicing Falun Gong. When their families went to the prison to visit them on August 27, 2024, the guards turned them away, saying that both practitioners were under strict management because they refused to renounce Falun Gong.
