(Minghui.org) Four residents of Wucheng County, Shandong Province are now facing trial for their faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body improvement system that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Li Xiuqin, in her 70s, Ms. Geng Yuanyuan, in her 30s, Mr. Bai Zisheng, in his 60s, and Ms. Zhu Guizhi, in her 50s, were arrested by officers of the Wucheng County Police Department in May 2024. Their Falun Gong books, computers, printers, and informational materials about Falun Gong were confiscated.
After placing them on criminal detention, the police forcibly collected their blood samples and fingerprints, as well as recording their voices and taking their photos. The police interrogated and threatened them, in order to gather information against them. Prosecutor Dong Youzhong of the Wucheng County Procuratorate indicted them in September 2024 and recommended to sentence all of them to seven years.
The practitioners are now facing trial by the Wucheng County Court. Judge Wang Chaohua has been assigned to handle their cases.
Prior to their latest arrests, Ms. Li, Mr. Bai and Ms. Zhu have all been detained at one point or another in the past 25 years for their faith.
