(Minghui.org) A 48-year-old woman suddenly went into shock and collapsed while standing trial on November 7, 2024 for practicing Falun Gong. Her husband took a photograph of her as evidence of her ordeal and was detained for several hours as a result.

It is unclear whether Ms. Hu Bibo, a resident of Macheng City, Hubei Province, remained in detention after her court hearing.

Ms. Hu was arrested on May 29, 2024, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was interrogated at the Zhongyi Town Police Station (Zhongyi Town is under the jurisdiction of Macheng City) and taken to the Huanggang City Detention Center the next day. (Huanggang oversees Macheng City.)

The police searched Ms. Hu’s home on May 31, but didn’t find any Falun Gong-related materials. The Macheng City Procuratorate approved her arrest on July 1, and its president Xiao Zhifei and prosecutor Zou Li signed the paperwork. They indicted her in September and forwarded her case to the Macheng City Court.

Ms. Hu stood trial on November 7, 2024. The hearing began at 9 a.m. and was recessed in a few hours. When it resumed at 3 p.m., she requested that all judges and prosecutors be recused from her case but her request was rejected. It is unclear whether she went into shock during the morning or the afternoon portion of her court session.
