(Minghui.org) Greetings, Master. Greetings, fellow practitioners.
I’m 63 years old and I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. The practitioners I often coordinate with to save people are younger than me, but I never feel old. Spring and summer, autumn and winter, through ups and downs, I’ve worked with other practitioners to offer people salvation.
Another practitioner and I went to the surrounding villages to distribute truth-clarification materials last fall. Because of the distance, we were afraid that our electric bikes would run out of power, so we rode bicycles. We live on the border of two provinces, and where we were headed in the other province is a little over 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away. It was windy, so it was hard to peddle. When trucks on the road passed us, the dust they kicked up made it hard to keep our eyes open.
When we went over a bridge, we had to push our bicycles uphill and then downhill because the slope was so steep that it was too dangerous to rely on our brakes. As soon as we saw the signs for the other province, we no longer felt tired. We decided to start in the nearest village. When we got to the north end, the other practitioner said, “I will go from the south to the north, and you go from the north to the south. We’ll meet in the middle of the village.” I knew she was concerned about me and wanted me to have to ride less. Our plan was to go from alley to alley and put a booklet on the door of every household.
I met her in the middle of the village. She said, “You have to be careful how you place the booklet. If it’s windy, the booklet might blow off the door handle.” There was a wide space between the two bars of some large metal gates, so I threw the booklet into the yard. The other practitioner taught me how to wrap the booklet and clip it to the decorative ring on the door so that it wouldn’t fall off. She said, “These are precious truth-clarification materials. They can’t be thrown.” I quickly corrected myself and carefully clipped the booklets as she suggested.
It was autumn, so the farmers were busy harvesting their crops. Some were transporting corn, others rice, and some were collecting soybeans. Everyone’s face was filled with the joy of a good harvest. We told them the truth about the persecution and advised them to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. The farmers accepted what we said and thanked us.
After we left that village, we went back and distributed booklets in every village we passed. We quickly gave out more than 200 copies. There were still some villages that we missed, so the other practitioner said, “Let’s remember where we didn’t distribute any, so we come back later.” We returned home with no problem.
The next day, the practitioner and I went to the villages in the west; on the third day, we went to the villages in the south; on the fourth day, we planned to go to the villages in the north, so we could cover the surrounding villages. She and I didn’t go to each other’s homes, because it was unsafe and inconvenient to go up and down the stairs. Every day after we parted, we agreed on the route we would take the next day. We met at a certain place and then set off together.
At the agreed time that day, I didn’t see her, so I rode back and saw her walking towards me. She said, “My bike broke down and needs to be repaired. Let’s go tomorrow.” On the way back, I thought about how everything was ready to distribute, so I didn’t go home. I chose another direction alone and went to a village where I’d run out of booklets the last time I distributed them. I thought that the sooner the villagers could see the booklets, the sooner they would be saved. That day, I distributed more than 100 copies and went home happy.
On the fifth day, I met her at the agreed location. She looked troubled and said, “I think someone is following me.” I saw that she was a little hesitant, so I advised her, “Take some time and adjust yourself.” She had been persecuted in the past and had to leave home for over six months, so the shadow of persecution was on her mind. She might have had a mental struggle but finally decided to go with me.
After we finished distributing materials in two villages, she wanted to go home. I said, “Give me all the rest of your materials, and you can go. There’s only one village left, and I’ll finish giving them out.” After she gave me what was left and was about to go home, a few magpies suddenly flew up from the rice fields next to us. Magpies are often considered a symbol of good luck. At that moment, I really felt that Master was by my side. It was a feeling I had not only that day but every day.
One year in midsummer, I came home so tired that I just wanted to sleep. I was afraid that I would miss the time to send righteous thoughts at noon, so I asked Master to wake me up. I was awakened by the noise of my next-door neighbor’s electric bike. I opened my eyes and saw that it was time to send righteous thoughts. Master was reminding me.
One winter night, I begged Master, “I haven’t gotten up to send righteous thoughts for several nights. Please wake me up.” I was awakened by the sound of ice falling outside the window. I opened my eyes and saw that it was time to send righteous thoughts. Master was helping me again.
Thinking of this, I asked her if she still wanted to leave. She realized that Master was enlightening her and said, “I’ll stay and help.” With her righteous thoughts we easily distributed the remaining materials. Unfortunately, we ran out when there were still nearly 20 homes left. Another practitioner and I later came back and left materials at those homes.
Winter arrived in the blink of an eye. People slipped and fell on the snow, and many were injured every year. Fewer people go out in the winter. We are Falun Dafa practitioners, and we have to go out. Sentient beings are waiting for us to save them. We couldn’t ride our bikes anymore, so we took taxis when we went far away, even though we didn’t know if we would find any to get us back. Other practitioners who did the same thing said that they always met cars on their way back and got a ride home. This winter, the four of us worked together, going from house to house in each village, and then meeting at the drop-off point.
There were also times when we didn’t coordinate well. We once got separated in a relatively large village. We saw what another group of practitioners had left at people’s doors, but we didn’t see them. We looked around but couldn’t find anyone. We had to walk back the way we took a taxi, looking back as we walked, hoping that they would show up. Just then a bus going in our direction passed by. But we didn’t get on it, because we didn’t see the other practitioners and because we still had over 20 copies to distribute. There was a small village ahead of us that we could see in the distance. When we arrived by taxi, we didn’t think it was far away, but walking there, that village seemed very far.
When we got to that village, it was almost noon. It was warmer by then, and we could see people walking around. I handed a booklet to a man who took it, looked at it, and said, “I don’t want it. Someone gave me one before. When I ran into the person-in-charge here, he asked me where it came from. I was questioned for a long time.”
Just then, a young man who looked like a soldier walked briskly up to us. I thought he might be the person-in-charge of the village. The young man asked for a booklet and said, “What’s there to be afraid of? If anyone asks, just say, ‘I picked it up.’” He took the booklet and walked into the store. I didn’t have time to clarify the truth to him, but his actions were enough to choose a better future for himself.
We quickly distributed more than 20 booklets and then walked over 10 kilometers home. As soon as we got home, the other two practitioners returned. They saw the materials we had distributed along the way, just like road signs, and knew that the direction we were walking was the way home, so they stopped a car and got a ride the rest of the way.
It is worth mentioning that whenever we distributed materials and asked passing vehicles for a ride, some of the drivers charged us and some did not, but we always paid them. It’s not easy for everyone in the icy and snowy weather, and practitioners should not take advantage and ride in other people’s cars for free.
Clarifying the Truth with Righteous Thoughts
One day, another practitioner and I were out talking to people about Dafa when we saw a man sitting in a car who seemed to be waiting for someone. I asked him if he was there to shop and he said he was. The other practitioner said, “I’ll tell you something good. Quitting the CCP will keep you safe. Remember ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ Recite the phrases often and you will be blessed.” The man said, “Don’t tell me that. I don’t believe in anything.” He got out of the car but did not take his key out of the ignition. I joked, “I see you’re going somewhere. If you go far, I’ll drive your car away.” He said, “Go ahead. I don’t believe you would anyway.” He seemed much friendlier than at first.
A woman came out of the grocery store and headed toward us. I smiled and asked her, “Are you two together?” She nodded, so I smiled again and said, “We practice Falun Dafa and told him to remember that ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ and he would be blessed. But he didn’t believe it and walked away.” The woman smiled at us.
I said, “There are so many disasters now, and we have to protect ourselves. When disasters occur, believe that Falun Dafa is good and the divine will protect you. If you joined the Youth League or the Young Pioneers when you were in school, please quit them. Heaven will disintegrate the CCP and those in the CCP organizations will be implicated for its crimes.” The woman agreed to quit the Young Pioneers and chose a good future for herself.
If we had left based on that man’s attitude, the woman would have missed the chance to talk to us. Then the man came back, got in the car, and drove away. The woman waved to us, and the man smiled at us. I thought, “If he has the chance to meet other practitioners again, I hope he can choose a good future for himself.”
Something else interesting happened. Another practitioner and I saw a man ahead of us and quickened our pace to catch up with him. The three of us walked and talked, and he said he was going to pick up some orders. I asked him if he was still working. He said, “No, I’ll be done in two days.” I said, “When you go, remember ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ You’ll be blessed if you recite the phrases often.”
Then he suddenly asked me, “What’s your last name?” I was startled. Why did he ask me that? In the past when I clarified the truth to people, some told me their last names, some didn’t, and some asked me mine. I would evade them by saying, “People who tell you good things don’t leave their names.” Some people also said, “I’ve already told you mine, why don’t you tell me yours?” Although I told them my name, I was still a little scared.
When this person asked me this question that day, I realized that he was trying to help me get rid of my fear, so I told him my last name. Then he asked, “What did you call me just now?” I thought it was not wrong for me to call him “Brother” at my age, but I looked at him more closely, and I recognized him! He was the son-in-law of my eldest sister-in-law. I introduced him to the other practitioner, and the three of us laughed.
He said, “I didn’t recognize you when we were chatting. We haven’t seen each other for at least ten years. You live out of town and rarely come back. I haven’t been home often in the past few years. We cover up so much in the winter, how could we recognize each other? You asked me to recite the two phrases and told me your last name. Then I knew it was you.” His uncle had told him the facts before and he had already quit the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. He said, “But I joined the Party later at work.” It was no wonder that I met him that day. It was because I had to help him quit the Party. Fortunately, I had righteous thoughts at the time.
One of my son’s classmates came to my place to pick up something, and I helped him withdraw from the CCP organizations. I thought at the time, “I hope he doesn’t tell my son about this.” My thought was incorrect. My son called me later and said, “Mom, don’t talk about such things.” I knew that his classmate had told him what I’d said. Not long after, another of my son’t classmate’s came to teach me how to do something. This time I didn’t dare to tell him the facts about Dafa, for fear that he would go back and tell my son.
Afterwards, I regretted it. Master sent these predestined people to me, but I was selfish and worried that my son would be unhappy. This is a human thought. I’m a practitioner, and I have responsibilities and a mission. I thought, “If I ever see my son’s classmate again, I will definitely tell him the facts.”
As soon as I had this wish, Master arranged an opportunity for me the next day. I was walking home after telling people about the persecution, and my son’s classmate was just leaving his house when I saw him. He said he was taking his mother to the dentist, but I didn’t see her. I said, “I was worried yesterday and didn’t dare to tell you the truth about Dafa. Don’t miss this opportunity.” I simply told him the basic facts about Falun Dafa, and he was happy to quit the CCP.
I am infinitely grateful to Master for his compassionate arrangement. Because of my selfishness, a life almost missed the opportunity to be saved. After my son’s classmate returned to school, my son didn’t call me—it was as if nothing happened.
Learning to Install a Computer Operating System
I pay attention to studying the Fa, and I’ve memorized Zhuan Falun for the fifth time. I’ve realized that only by cultivating in the Fa can I obtain everything I need. When I was learning to install a computer operating system, Master gave me wisdom.
I read an article on Minghui.org that said Windows 8 was discontinued and we needed to upgrade to Windows 10. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I couldn’t find a technically-competent practitioner. In the past, other practitioners had installed the necessary software on my computer and said that it could only support Windows 8. I thought that elderly practitioners could learn to install the system; I was educated, so it should be no problem.
I studied the information on the technical forum over and over again, and after nearly seven days, I successfully installed the Windows 10 system using the toolbox V1.2. I don’t know how I could have done it by myself, so I know Master was helping me.
This year I learned on the Minghui website that the toolbox was upgraded to V1.3. A practitioner said, “Your old computer works and there is no need to upgrade.” But I always thought this was a relatively new computer and I had to give it a try. This time I got the V1.3 toolbox that another practitioner downloaded for me, which saved me a lot of time. The practitioner patiently taught me how to install it.
When I got home, I successfully optimized the computer system again. I know this is Master encouraging me to constantly progress and do even better. As long as I want to do something, Master will help me, so I can do anything.
Looking back on my cultivation journey, I can see that every step is inseparable from Master’s compassionate care, and I feel extremely lucky. From now on, I must practice hard, do the three things well, live up to the expectations of all sentient beings, and show the wonder of Falun Dafa to the world.
Please point it out if there is anything not in accordance with the Fa.
