(Minghui.org) Greetings, Master! Greetings, fellow practitioners!
Since I began practicing Falun Dafa, I have always reminded myself to be a genuine Dafa disciple. The path of cultivation is filled with challenges, yet it is also a blessing for me to come across Dafa. Bitter or sweet, they are all opportunities for me to improve myself.
Every step of my journey has been arranged by Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, and supported by fellow practitioners. On the occasion of the 21st Minghui China Fahui, I would like to reflect on my cultivation journey and share my thoughts with you.
Cultivating While Providing Technical Support to Practitioners
As a relatively young practitioner in my local area, many practitioners come to me when they encounter technical difficulties with their home-based material printing sites. With the wish to serve, I always tried my best to solve the issues for them. As the machines were constantly upgraded, I spent considerable time to learn how to maintain and repair them. The practitioner-run technical forum, Tiandixing, provided invaluable resources, which made my work more efficient.
Helping practitioners set up material production sites is my primary focus. One senior practitioner has been printing the materials at home for many years, despite her advanced age. When she first expressed doubts about her ability to manage it, I encouraged her: “You can do it as long as you are determined. I will help you.”
It really took great patience to help her. A very simple thing to me can take her a long time to master.
At the beginning, she couldn’t locate an icon on the computer screen or make notes because she couldn’t write well. I created notes for her and patiently helped her develop the habits to master these skills. Sometimes, she had to spend days repeating basic operations before she could do them independently. I tried my best to stay patient, keeping a smile on my face and suppressing feelings of impatience or anxiety. I treated these moments as opportunities to cultivate myself.
I recognized the immense difficulty to learn computer skills at her age, especially given her limited education. At the same time, her determination to overcome these challenges to save people inspired me to support her unconditionally. For over a decade, she has quietly persisted, progressing from simple black-and-white printing to advanced color printing.
In addition to her, I have helped many practitioners establish material printing sites at home. While some eventually gave up due to various challenges, I understand that we are all navigating and moving forward amidst various interference from the old forces.
Once I went to a fellow practitioner’s home in a rural area to teach her computer skills. I arrived a little early and she was still working in the yard. Her husband, a non-practitioner, greeted me and we talked for a while. Later we went to another room, where I taught her how to operate the machines.
Soon her son came back. He questioned his mother about what she was doing rudely, and then slammed the door and left. She apologized to me for her son’s behavior. I knew that her son did not welcome me. I quickly showed her the operation and left before it was dark. Her son blocked my way and asked, “Why did you come to my house?”
“I came to provide help to your mother.” Then I left on my motorcycle. Before I got very far, the front tire went flat. It was dark and I couldn’t find a repair shop, so I had to push the motorcycle slowly and walked back home in the dark. I felt sad.
Why did this happen to me? I looked inward and realized that I had failed to consider the safety of the practitioner’s family. The villagers often saw me going to her home carrying a computer bag, which might bring pressure to the family members. From then on, I chose more discreet locations to train her.
In fact, teaching is not difficult, but equipment maintenance is, especially for newer models, because there was not much information online and I had to figure things out by myself.
The key to get my job done well is to stay in a good cultivation state by studying the Fa and doing the exercises, no matter how busy I was. Master is watching over me and protecting me all the time.
Once it was pouring on my way back after I fixed a practitioner’s machine. I could barely see the road ahead. When I realized that I should make a turn, it was too late. I fell from the motorcycle; the seat cushion was broken; and my helmet had a crack in it.
It was summer and I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I slid down the road for over ten meters and my sandal straps were frayed. I got up and found no injuries except that the skin of my leg rubbed off a little. I had no pain or bleeding. My wife, also a Dafa practitioner, was worried about me at home, but we both knew Master was watching over me.
Validating the Fa and Saving People at Work
My wife and I run a small store, where I installed a TV broadcasting New Tang Dynasty TV programs. Customers often watched the TV in our store, and many found the independent, truthful content refreshing, after years of exposure to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) propaganda.
This provides many opportunities to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution. Although we faced police harassment and even home raids from time to time, we didn’t take the TV down. Some customers reminded us to be careful, but no one ever reported us.
When a new customer comes, we try our best to tell him or her about the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa and expose the persecution. As an introvert, I wasn’t good at talking. But my wife always encouraged me that I could do it well. Over time, I overcame my fear and I can clarify the truth to anyone who visits our store now.
Usually we can persuade a few people to quit the CCP every day. When we get back home in the evening, we reflect on our conversations with the customers and think about how we can do better next time.
One thing I would like to mention is that we shouldn’t be attached to the results. As long as we do it out of good thoughts, the outcome is often better. It is fine if some people didn’t agree to quit the CCP, even after talking to him or her several times.
Once a woman accused us of giving her the wrong change. Despite being confident that we did not made a mistake, I told my wife to give her the money she asked for. Later, the woman returned with her husband to apologize for her error. We took this opportunity to share the teachings of Falun Dafa, and her husband agreed to quit the CCP.
Through such experiences, we learned the importance of maintaining kindness and validating the Fa in our daily life.
Correcting the Mindset and Eliminating Interference
Nowadays smartphones are very popular and can be a major source of distraction. Some practitioners are addicted to using smartphones. I, too, found myself spending excessive time on the phone. To correct myself, I switched to a basic flip phone a few years ago. Without apps or videos to distract me, I felt more focused. When customers asked why I still used such an old phone, I explained, “It helps me save time.”
As practitioners, we must stay vigilant and make conscious choices to avoid being swayed by the chaos of the modern world.
Dafa reveals to me the true meaning of life and how one should live. I am deeply grateful to Master for awakening me and guiding me on the cultivation path in Dafa.
