(Minghui.org) I was fortunate to hear about Falun Dafa in 1996. I found hope amidst my despair and understood the true meaning of life. From then on, I was bathed in Falun Dafa’s grace and was under Master Li’s compassionate care. Along the way, I experienced hardship, joy, and Master’s endless kindness.
My life was filled with bitterness before I practiced Falun Dafa, and my fate was unfortunate. My husband’s unstable temper caused great harm to me both physically and mentally. He became angry when things didn’t go his way. He shouted at me when I opened my mouth and hit me if I tried to defend myself. He was addicted to gambling. I thought about committing suicide, but when I looked at my little daughter, I felt helpless and knew I had to silently endure everything.
My cousin suggested I practice Falun Dafa, and said my relationship with my family would improve. Feeling I had nothing to lose I embarked on the path of cultivation. My husband saw the changes in me, and in 1997, he also began to practice Falun Dafa. It’s true that “Tis Dafa that resolves everything at the source” (“Undoing the Disaster,” Hong Yin II).
Both of us were laid off and had no source of income. Someone told me about a job at a privately owned company. I purchased food for the cafeteria and managed it. More than 30 people worked there. I followed Falun Dafa’s principles and worked diligently. I tried my best to make sure everyone who came to our cafeteria ate well—and our cafeteria was acknowledged by the workers and praised by the company leaders.
I was later assigned to manage an additional cafeteria, and there were about 30 staff as well. The company assigned me a car and a driver. I got up at around 3 a.m. every morning to go to a distant wholesale market to buy fresh food and supplies so that I could save money and everyone ate well. My monthly budget was more than 10,000 yuan.
My boss knew that I practiced Falun Dafa so he trusted me. People know that practitioners are not greedy or possessive. When I purchased supplies, the vendors tried to give me rebates by raising the price on the receipt. I told them that I practice Falun Dafa, so I don’t take what doesn’t belong to me, and I don’t do what I shouldn’t. I explained that Master told us to use Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance as our standard. We are required to follow the principles to be good people, better people, and to clarify the truth. The vendors were amazed and said that those who practice Falun Dafa are probably the only non-corrupt people in China. By observing me they all had a good impression of Falun Dafa and knew that it was wrong to persecute practitioners.
Because I bought a lot, I had to keep a record, but my manager never checked on me. I usually reviewed the receipts afterward, and when I found some vendors paid me too much, I noted this and returned it when I next saw them. All the vendors knew that Falun Dafa practitioners were honest and good, as others would never return the money. I told them that Master and the Fa showed us how to be good people.
After working there for some time, I found the job was too stressful and exhausting. I gave the 55,000 yuan that was saved from the two cafeterias to my boss. I bought the food and supplies at the wholesale market. If I had purchased whatever was available at the local market, I wouldn’t have been able to save so much money.
My goal was to let the workers and leaders eat well, and at the same time, save some money for the company. Because Master told us to do a good job wherever we are and work hard. This is the money I saved from my hard work, so I handed it all over.
My boss was shocked and said that they wouldn’t be able to find another person like me. He also asked me how many years of education I had and whether I could work at his house. They thought it was incredible that I returned the money, and because I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, I did something that most people wouldn’t do. I explained that Falun Dafa changed me.
Falun Dafa benefited us so much. No human language can express my gratitude for Master’s great compassion.
I hope that all people can learn about Falun Dafa. It is the hope of mankind. Seek the truth, break through the Chinese Communist Party’s lies, and choose kindness, then you will be blessed by Gods and Buddhas.
