(Minghui.org) Many people were excited about the results of the recent U.S. presidential election, including some practitioners and myself.
Using Falun Dafa’s teachings to assess the situation, I know my excitement was wrong. In fact, I have experienced many similar lessons in the past. For example, many of us have felt ups and downs because of everyday current affairs since the last election.
We know that events that happen in ordinary society are a test for practitioners. Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, told us that, we cannot rely on an everyday person to end the persecution. There are arrangements behind everything that happens in ordinary society. We should always regard Dafa as our teacher and remain undisturbed by events that happen around us. Master said, “... if your mind can be imperturbable there will be nothing you can’t handle.” (“Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s),” The Essentials of Diligent Progress II)
Some people are interested in the prophecies of U.S. pastor Brandon Biggs. However, he is an ordinary person and may not accurately predict the future. I think world affairs will change because of the Fa-rectification. A prophet may predict small events in the human world, but for the bigger picture, we shouldn’t try to envision it or be attached to human prophecies. Otherwise, we invite human notions, an attachment to time, and other negative issues.
Just focus on doing the three things well. By listening to Master’s words, we will remain clearheaded and do well when talking about Falun Dafa with people. We do not need to mention prophecies when telling people about Dafa and negating the defamatory propaganda from the Chinese Communist Party.
We have had enough lessons, and we should not flip-flop because of our surroundings. Master has talked about this many times including in the recent article “A Wake-Up Call.” We cannot cause Master to worry about us because of this issue anymore.
These are my understandings. Please point out anything inconsistent with Falun Dafa's teachings.
