(Minghui.org) Practitioners held activities in Tours on November 15 and in Orléans on November 22, 2024. They introduced Falun Dafa and told people about the 25-year-long brutal persecution of the practice in China.

Tours and Orléans are the two most important cities in the Loire Valley (Vallée de la Loire) in north-central France. Orléans is the capital of the region, and Tours is the largest city in the area. Both cities boast a rich and historic culture. Tours has been the capital of France more than once, and two kings were crowned in Orléans.

People Shocked by Chinese Regime’s Crimes Against Humanity

Practitioners set up an information booth and posters in Jean Jaurès Square (Place Jean Jaurès) in front of the Town Hall in Tours on November 15 to introduce Falun Dafa. Jean Jaurès Square is a popular pedestrian thoroughfare.

Many people stopped to read the posters and talk to practitioners. They were shocked by the Chinese regime’s systemic persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China and appalled to hear about the forced organ harvesting from living practitioners incarcerated for refusing to renounce their faith. They signed a petition urging the Chinese regime to end the persecution.

A woman thanked practitioners for telling her about the persecution. She signed the petition and encouraged them to keep up their good work.

A retired man had an in-depth discussion with the practitioners after he signed the petition. He was interested in knowing more details about the ongoing persecution.

Many young people signed the petition and shared the information on the posters on their social media platforms.

Information Booth Draws Attention in Orléans

Practitioners set up an information booth at Place du Martroi on November 22 to tell the people about Falun Dafa and the persecution that started in July 1999. The booth was only a few steps away from the statue of Jeanne d’Arc and drew the attention of many visitors.

A man who stopped to read the posters about the persecution asked many questions and said he sympathized with practitioners in China. He signed the petition demanding that the Chinese regime end the persecution.

A group of five high school students went to Place du Martroi after school that day. All of them signed the petition. They said that it was unbelievable that a government would torture its people because they practiced something to improve their physical and mental health. They condemned the Chinese regime for violating peoples’ basic rights, including freedom of belief, which the French people value.

A man who works for the city of Orléans said people are free to practice what they believe the same way that people are free to ride bikes in France. He signed a petition protesting doctors in China removing organs from living practitioners and performing illegal organ transplants. He signed another petition demanding that the Chinese regime end the persecution.

A retired city official talked to a practitioner for a long time. After he understood how brutal the persecution is, he signed both petitions.

Olga, who is from the former Soviet Union, signed both petitions. She said that she understood communism and that she knew the pain practitioners in China are enduring.

Another person who signed the petition had tears in her eyes. “My life is not easy, but compared to how the practitioners in China are treated…,” she choked as she said this.

People kept coming to the booth to learn about Falun Dafa and the persecution until it got dark at around 6:00 p.m.
