(Minghui.org) Twenty years ago in November, the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party touched Chinese people around the world. The historic truths in the book helped many people understand the true nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and also triggered a wave of withdrawal from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. So far, more than 430 million Chinese have withdrawn from the CCP organizations.
Falun Gong practitioners in Toronto, Canada and Chinese who have joined the Quit-the-CCP movement gathered at Queen’s Park to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Nine Commentaries on November 2, 2024. Some Chinese people withdrew from the CCP during the event. They urged more Chinese people to recognize the nature of the CCP, withdraw from CCP organizations, and choose a better future for themselves.

Chinese People Renounce the CCP
At the event, three Chinese people, Song Fengxue, Wu Chaoyang and Yi Boyang, formally announced their withdrawal from the CCP organizations. Yi Boyang said, “When I was young, I was forced to join the CCP’s Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers. Here, I formally announce my withdrawal from the CCP organizations in front of so many people. I also call on all Chinese people to withdraw from the CCP. On the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Nine Commentaries, I call on all Chinese people to shed the evil cloak of the CCP and withdraw from the world’s largest cult.”
Song Fengxue said that he read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party 20 years ago. Twenty years have passed in the blink of an eye. He was excited to be able to stand on the free land and participate in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the publication of the book. He said, “Twenty years ago, I received many emails about the book Nine Commentaries. After I read the book, I had a new understanding of the nature of the CCP.”
He talked about his experience after reading the book, “The atheism promoted by the CCP makes it ruthless. Whenever something threatens the CCP regime, it initiates a dehumanizing crusade.” He added, “When I was in China, there were many people around me who believed in Christianity, but every time they participated in church activities, they were suppressed by the CCP, and even pastors were imprisoned for a period of time, or their homes were searched.”
He also said he highly recommends this book to all Chinese people, “When I finished reading the Nine Commentaries, my perception changed a lot. After reading this book, and comparing it with some things happening around me and the measures taken by the authorities, I think this book is very real and can help more people know how evil the CCP is and help them awaken. This book thoroughly reveals the CCP’s actions and it’s evil from the most essential point of view.” Mr. Song also said that he told many friends about this book.
For Linda and her friends who came to Toronto from Tianjin to visit relatives, this was their first time seeing so many Falun Gong practitioners. Linda said that she heard about the self-immolation incident in China. Falun Gong practitioners told her that the self-immolation incident was staged by the CCP and used it as justification to suppress Falun Gong. The practitioners also told her, “Because the CCP is evil and wicked, it suppresses Falun Gong practitioners, who believe in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
Linda said that because she was misled by the CCP’s propaganda, she never understood the truth. Today, she realized that the CCP has been slandering Falun Gong, and said, “Seeing so many people who practice Falun Gong today is really a big contrast. This is not what the CCP portrays at all.”
Linda and her friends chose to quit the CCP organizations and participated in the parade. They said they were inspired by the event and hoped to participate in the next parade.
Reading the Nine Commentaries and Recognizing the Nature of the CCP
Mr. Yu Houqiang, Chairman of the China Democratic Party Canada Committee, said that he read the Nine Commentaries 20 years ago, but in the following 20 years, the CCP’s propaganda gave people a false impression of economic development. He said, “At that time, many people thought that although the CCP was evil, it at least managed to improve the economy. But what they didn’t know is that this was the CCP’s consistent use of lies to cover up the truth.”
He also said that those who were members of the CCP organizations for many years lost their human nature, “Those members of the CCP have lost their human nature, which is the Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance that Falun Gong practitioners believe in.” He also said he hopes that everyone who knows the truth can stick to the principles.
Sun Lu, a member of the China Democratic Party Canada Committee, said, “The Nine Commentaries reveals one of the essences of the CCP: absolute control. In order to maintain its control, it does not hesitate to sacrifice the freedom and even the lives of others. The Nine Commentaries also emphasizes that the CCP regime is built on lies, deception, and control.”
Local Residents Participate in the Parade

Kelly and Dan saw the parade commemorating the 20th anniversary of the publication when they were leaving the Ontario Museum. After learning about the purpose of the parade, they decided to join in to condemn the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and other groups. They gladly accepted a Nine Commentaries DVD from a practitioner.
Paulina, a retired therapist, watched the parade and said, “They are so peaceful.” She added, “I cannot accept the fact that these people are being persecuted in China.” When she learned that more than 430 million people have withdrawn from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, she said, “This is very good. Everyone has the right to choose freely.”
