1. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zou Huaxiang’s Appeal Denied

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Guohui’s and Ms. Yu Chunli’s Appeals Denied

6. [Panzihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Yongqiong Arrested
7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. You Guangqing Detained
1. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zou Huaxiang’s Appeal Denied
Ms. Zou Huaxiang, 69, was tried by the Rongcheng Court on September 28, 2023. She defended herself in court and pled not guilty. She was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term on October 23, 2023. She was held in the Wendeng No. 2 Detention Center, where she filed an appeal. The intermediate court affirmed the lower court’s decision without a hearing. She will be sent to Zhangqiu Prison after Chinese New Year.
Ms. Zou was arrested by two plainclothes officers for distributing Falun Gong calendars on November 24, 2022. Officers from the Huancui District Domestic Security Division ransacked her home at noon. She was released on bail. She was arrested at home and put into the Wendeng Detention Center on April 10, 2023.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tong Shurong Imprisoned
Ms. Tong Shurong, 79, lives in the Paoya Residential District. She talked to middle school students about Falun Gong in the Yingchengzi area on October 17, 2021. A student reported her. She was placed under six month house arrest. The Ganjingzi District Court sentenced her to 16 months in prison and fined her 10,000 yuan.
She was put into the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on January 2, 2024. She is being held in the 12th Ward where practitioners are sent.
3. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Nan Zhenxin Sentenced
Ms. Nan Zhenxin, an employee of the Qingzhou Tax Bureau, was sentenced to five years in prison. She was transferred to Jinan Women’s Prison.
4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Guohui’s and Ms. Yu Chunli’s Appeals Denied
Mr. Wang Guohui’s and Ms. Yu Chunli’s appeals were denied by the Qingdao Intermediate Court.
5. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yunying Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yunying is an elderly practitioner living in Dongluoqiao Village. She talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in a market on the morning of January 28, 2024, where a man reported her. A woman dragged her and would not let her leave. Officers from the Hualong Police Station soon arrived and arrested her. Three officers ransacked her home and seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. She was released at noon the next day.
6. [Panzihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Yongqiong Arrested
Ms. Wu Yongqiong, 58, was arrested at home by plainclothes officers, four male and two female, from the Dongqu Police Department, at noon on February 1, 2024. They seized over 750 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them, and letters with Falun Gong messages which were ready to mail. She was released on bail at around 8:30 p.m.
7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. You Guangqing Detained
Ms. You Guangqing, who lives in Chaoyang Township, Shuangcheng District, was arrested on January 8, 2024. She was released on January 22 after she was detained for 15 days.
