(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qin Xiujuan Tried in Court
2. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
3. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Gaimei Arrested
4. [Rui’an City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fan Meihong Arrested
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Yueying Arrested and Detained
6. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yuexian Arrested
7. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
8. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Han Qiuli Harassed
9. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Gangfeng and Mr. Shi Wenqing Arrested
1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qin Xiujuan Tried in Court
Ms. Qin Xiujuan was tried in the Hanyang District Court on the morning of January 29, 2024. Her lawyer defended her innocence. The verdict was not announced in the court. The judge sent the bail request back to the detention center.
2. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Three practitioners were arrested by seven officers when they talked to people about Falun Gong at the bus station opposite the Zhenhua Shopping Center around 10 a.m. on February 6, 2024. Two of the practitioners are in their 70s.
3. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Gaimei Arrested
Ms. Wang Gaimei’s family received a call from Qingxu County on the afternoon of December 7, 2023, and learned that she was arrested there. Her family received a call on January 2, 2024, informing them that Ms. Wang was placed under official arrest by the procuratorate.
4. [Rui’an City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fan Meihong Arrested
Ms. Fan Meihong from Mayu Town was arrested by several officers on February 5, 2024. Her home was ransacked.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Yueying Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhang Yueying was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in her workplace on January 22, 2024. The police went to her home and took her to the Huangtianba Police Station at 5 p.m. on January 31, 2024. Ms. Zhang was detained for five days and was released at 11 p.m. on February 6, 2024.
6. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yuexian Arrested
Ms. Liu Yuexian was arrested by officers from the Binhai Police Department on November 29, 2023. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other items. She was released that evening. Ms. Liu left her home town to avoid further persecution.
7. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
Nine practitioners were arrested in their homes on the morning of January 9, 2024. They are Ms. Xu Chunying, Geng Haiji, Ms. Yao Shuping, Ms. Jia Haibo who is Ms.Yao’s daughter, Ms. Wang Fengzhi, Ms. Ren Shuxiang, Ms. Bing Shufen, Ms. Li Guiyun, and Ms. Fu Weiqing. Eight of them were taken and detained in a brainwashing center in Xing’an Township. They were pressured to sign a guarantee statement. They were all released within a week.
8. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Han Qiuli Harassed
Ms. Han Qiuli was harassed at home by Zhang Xiaowei from the Hujiamiao Police Station in the Xincheng District at noon on February 1, 2024. Zhang tried to take photos but was stopped by Ms. Han and her family.
9. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Gangfeng and Mr. Shi Wenqing Arrested
Mr. Liu Gangfeng and Mr. Shi Wenqing from Dongli Village of Dafengying Township, Shenzhou City were arrested by officers from the Sunzhuang Township Police Station when they were distributing information about Falun Gong in the Zhangfatai Market in Wuqiang County on January 19, 2024. Their homes were ransacked by officers from the Sunzhuang Township Police Station. Several truth clarifying materials and posters were confiscated. They were released later that day.
Officers from the Dafengying Township Police Station went to harass two practitioners on February 2, 2024. They collected their phone numbers and their ID numbers and photographed them.
