(Minghui.org) Ms. Dong recited a poem “Plum Blossoms” from Hong Yin II to a detainee while she was incarcerated for practicing Falun Dafa. The woman burst into tears when she heard,
“In the chaotic world, like pure lotus flowers—plum blossoms, a hundred millionCold winds only accentuate their beautyThe interminable snowfall and rainare the tears of gods,Who look longingly for the plum blossoms’ return”(“Plum Blossoms,” Hong Yin II)
She could not stop crying and said, “Master [Li, the founder of Falun Dafa,] is calling on me! I heard you, Master! I’ll practice! I’ll definitely cultivate Dafa!”
Ms. Dong recited another poem, “An Upright Person” from Hong Yin to a different inmate. The woman said, “I’ve been through so much in my life! I made a lot of money and squandered a lot of money, I thought I had everything. Eventually making and spending money no longer made me happy—instead I felt empty. I thought life was meaningless and wondered why we are here.” She began to practice Falun Dafa and had many amazing experiences, which made her determined to cultivate herself and she was very diligent. When Ms. Dong was about to be released from detention, the inmate asked her to contact her parents and tell them how good Falun Dafa is.
A businesswoman told practitioner Mei that she once arranged for someone to manage her business so she could go on a spiritual quest. She spent a lot of money, and searched everywhere in China and overseas. On one occasion she even paid tens of thousands yuan to listen to a lecture—but everything she looked into was superficial.
She told Mei, “I heard of Falun Dafa but always thought it was just a qigong practice. I never expected that the True Way (Da Fa – Great Law) is here! But I overlooked it. When you are released, you must come to my company and we can practice cultivation together!”
A detainee who practiced for a short time said, “I now understand why I was detained—it was my opportunity to learn about Dafa. I must cherish it!”
There was one prisoner who cooperated with the guards to try to get practitioners to renounce Falun Dafa in exchange for a reduction in her prison sentence. She suffered from many ailments. When she saw how healthy practitioner Fan was, she was envious and told her, “I’ve observed you for a long time. Despite your age, you are full of energy. You go up and down the stairs effortlessly, and you are the only one in this prison ward who has not seen the doctor or taken any pills.
“We may be younger than you but we are not as fit. Like me, you used to suffer from many ailments. Seeing how healthy you are, I truly believe Falun Dafa can resolve illnesses. Everything the prison guards told us [about Falun Dafa] is lies! Tell me more about Falun Dafa.”
When she became ill she held Fan’s hand and said, “Please teach me the exercises!” She also said she no longer wanted her prison sentence reduced and she refused to pressure practitioners to stop practicing Dafa. She told practitioners she would practice Falun Dafa when she was released and she’d tell her friends and relatives how good Dafa is.
Amei shouted at practitioner Geping: “Do not practice Falun Dafa when you go home or else you will be arrested and locked up again. There is so much hardship in prison, don’t come in again!” Then she whispered to Geping, “Falun Dafa can improve one’s health. Even if you want to practice, do it secretly. Just don’t let them catch you!” She winked at Geping and then continued shouting: “Did you hear what I said?” Actually, Amei was shouting like that to placate the guards. She quietly told Geping that in her heart she knew Falun Dafa is great.
Another prisoner, Cai told practitioner Ying, “I’ve been imprisoned for more than a decade, and I’ve seen all the bad deeds the guards have done in torturing Falun Dafa practitioners. I have a good memory so I remember everything clearly. I am the best witness. I am going to be released soon. I’ll write down everything I saw and one day, when all Falun Dafa practitioners are released from prison, I will submit my statements as evidence! We cannot let these brutes get away with these crimes!”
