(Minghui.org) I recently shopped online to buy a new pair of shoes. I spent a lot of time, until my computer warned me that the battery was low. Afterwards the battery wouldn’t charge.
This happened to me before when I had a loophole in my xinxing. I wasn’t too concerned and thought it was caused by my wasting time browsing the Internet. I sent righteous thoughts to eliminate the negative substances in me, and to repair the computer. This time it didn’t work. As my computer is also my tool in a Dafa related project, I asked Master to help me. The computer went dead and wouldn’t start.
I immediately realized that this was a test of my xinxing. Because I had to go somewhere, I looked inward as I walked. As soon as I arrived at the bus stop, I heard a person behind me yelling, “There is still hope, there is still hope, it depends on your performance.” I smiled and thought, “Isn’t this a hint from Master?”
I took out my smart phone and looked up the bus time table. When I raised my head, I saw that the bus had already arrived. I waved to the driver and quickly boarded the bus. The bus driver yelled at me, “I won’t wait for you next time if I see you playing with your phone!”
I looked inward and realized the driver yelling at me was also an obvious hint. I always thought that I wasn’t obsessed with my mobile phone. In fact, I still spend a lot of time watching ordinary people’s videos and news on my mobile phone. When I’m tired and want to relax, I watch videos. Even when it’s time to study the Fa I procrastinate.
Watching videos may be entertaining, but in reality it is constantly loading karma and deviated concepts into one’s body, which is a bad thing for cultivators.
After I returned home, I sent righteous thoughts to clear my human notions, including laziness, my addiction to watching videos, and other bad thoughts. I eliminated interference that tried to undermine my faith in Master and the Fa. When I plugged in the computer the next morning, it turned on.
Looking back on the entire process, it seems that the computer stopped working as soon as I asked Master to help me. But soon after, Master gave me two clear hints, allowing me to find my shortcomings and improve. Master was helping me in a way that could not easily be seen. If I was deceived by the notion, “seeing is believing,” I might have doubted Master and the Fa. This doubt would be seized by the old forces as an excuse to prolong or intensify the tribulations.
Master said:
“At a certain point in time, you will be made unable to discern clearly whether something is true or not, whether your gong exists or not, whether or not you can cultivate and make it, or whether or not there are Buddhas and if they are real. In the future, these situations will surface again to give you this false impression and make you feel as though they do not exist and are all false—it is to see whether you are determined...” (Lecture Six, Zhuan Falun)
This incident made me understand that no matter what the circumstances, I should firmly believe in Master and the Fa, and I look inward to find the human notions behind things. I must not be fooled by appearances and the everyday person’s notion, “Seeing is believing.”
