(Minghui.org) I began to practice Dafa in 1997. I have not done as much clarifying the truth face to face, as many other practitioners have done. I have instead persisted in making and distributing the informational materials, hanging Dafa banners, and so on, for over 26 years.
Walking Firmly on the Road of Validating the Fa
I started to validate the Fa not long after the persecution was launched in 1999. At first, I just hand-wrote “Falun Dafa is good” on self-adhesive paper and posted them on the side of the road. I could rarely get informational materials from other practitioners back then. My husband who was not yet a Dafa practitioner would sometimes help me print out single page materials which I could distribute.
I normally distributed the materials either at dawn or at night. Once, I went to a community and put up a self-adhesive poster that read “Falun Dafa is good” on the first floor, and then went upstairs. When I came back down, I heard a young lady on the first floor reading the poster out loud, “Falun Dafa is good!”
Later on, other practitioners began to make materials in large quantities, and I would distribute them near and far, either by myself, or with other practitioners.
Later, fellow practitioners also made large banners. Whenever it was an important day such as the New Year’s Day, April 25, and July 20, we would often hang the banners on trees and utility poles.
I started making informational materials myself in the spring of 2010. My husband began to practice Dafa in 2012, and we worked together to make materials for ourselves and for other practitioners in our Fa-study group to distribute.
We gained more and more experience distributing the materials as time went by. Every time I arrived at a community, I would check out the area while distributing materials. I would remember where each building was, which households had received the materials, and which ones did not.
After returning home, I would draw a simple diagram in my notebook, so that it would be clear at a glance which households I still needed to cover. Some large communities had dozens of buildings, with hundreds of households in each building. It would take me multiple days to cover these communities, and I would make drawings and notes after returning home, so that I would not leave any households out. We would usually make plans to distribute materials to communities in rotation. For those that were next to busy streets, we would pick rainy or snowy days to distribute there so as to avoid being noticed.
When the pandemic started in 2019, many communities were closed and had strict controls for entering and exiting. The communities that normally did not have guards also had temporary guards who were personnel from disease prevention and control departments, and they stayed in the tents outside the buildings. People in some communities made holes in the fences to get out. We would get in using these holes, and distribute materials and hang banners. For communities that we could not find a way to enter, we would put the materials under the handles of car doors.
Master’s Blessing and Protection
Over the years, I have encountered many seemingly dangerous situations when distributing materials. Each time, I was able to stay safe with Master’s protection. It was amazing.
Once my mother and I went to a particularly dilapidated community to distribute materials. This particular community was large, the big roads and small alleys in the community had many turns, and we were not familiar with it.
At first, we were distributing materials in the same alley, each doing one side. But, when I finished the materials, I could not find her from the other side of alley. Where could she be? When I walked to the main road, I saw her walking towards me while looking around. What a coincidence! She said that she was lost and didn’t know which way to go. She asked someone, who told her to go this way. It was really Master’s compassionate arrangement.
One time during the Chinese New Year holiday, I brought many VCDs with me when I took a train. At that time, there were no security check facilities at the county-level train stations, thus having no security check. But on that day I arrived at the train station, someone was doing a manual security check. If the inspector opened my travel bag, he would be able to see the VCDs with just a dig of his hand into my bag. I quickly said to him, “Sir, I’m running out of time for my train.” He immediately took his hand away and said, “Go ahead.” So I was able to leave. Again, it was Master who protected me at the critical moment.
For many years, we would bring printed materials, VCDs, and sometimes banners every time we went back to our hometown for Chinese New Year. A few days before departure, I would send righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors behind the security equipment and personnel at the train station. My ID card had been tampered with, but given Master’s protection, each time I was able to pass the security check smoothly.
In recent years, as the CCP became more and more afraid of people uprising, many surveillance cameras were installed on the streets and residential areas. There were also cameras installed in the hallways and elevators of high-rise residential buildings. Many of these cameras are monitored in real-time, and I have heard of other practitioners getting persecuted for being caught on camera. Some practitioners were hindered by this, and gradually fewer and fewer practitioners came out to distribute materials.
I was not affected much, and I firmly believe what Master said when answering a disciple’s question about the surveillance cameras,
“Dafa disciples have their ways. There will be little interference if you are righteous with whatever you do. As I have always said, there won’t be any problems if you are righteous on your part.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference”)
Sometimes I would feel nervous before I went out. When this happened, I would recite Master’s poem “What’s There to Fear” (Hong Yin II)
Before leaving home, I would normally sit down and send righteous thoughts for some time to eliminate the evils that would hinder sentient beings from understanding the truth and being saved. I would also ask Master to help and block the surveillance cameras. As soon as I stepped out of my home, my fear would normally disappear.
I had rarely encountered dogs barking over the years. Sometimes I would see some entering a building with their dog, but when we went into the building to distribute materials, the dog would not bark. In fact, even if a dog barked, the owner would normally not come out to check.
Many residents have now installed cameras on their doors. Sometimes, as soon as I approached a door, the lock would automatically light up and make a sound. According to other practitioners, some security cameras can take pictures. Once, as soon as I took out some material, a voice coming from a camera suddenly spoke loudly, “Who are you? Who are you looking for?” I was startled and I skipped that door, but I regretted this later.
A Pleasant Surprise When Validating the Fa
When we went out to hang banners on important dates, we would often make sure to put them where they could be seen clearly. If sometimes we were not satisfied with the way a banner was hung, we would often be able to find a stick nearby to straighten the banner, or we’d take it down and hang it again.
Once on the day of July 20, three of us got together to put up three large exhibition boards and hung up many banners in the city. The bright and eye-catching “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” were visible from far away. Sometimes we would also put up the banners to expose the crimes of Jiang Zemin and the organ harvesting.
The day before May 13, 2018, we hung a yellow banner with red characters that read “Falun Dafa is good.” One practitioner who participated in hanging the banner went to buy birthday cakes for Master the next morning. She saw the banner from far away. It was swinging in the wind, attracting many people walking by, and she took a picture of this precious moment. When she returned to the community, she saw the banner “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good” on the tree in the small garden, and many people were right next to it spending time with their children. She quickly captured this beautiful moment as well.
I followed the instructions posted on the Minghui website and learned to make decorative tree banners with five discarded CDs. The tutorial design was very beautiful, with one colorful character on each CD, and beautiful peonies around each character. One side of the CDs bears the characters “Falun Dafa is good” while the other side reads “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
At first we printed them using glossy paper. Later, we discovered that it looked even shinier if we put a layer of cold laminated film, which also made it waterproof and sun proof. Each of these has a Chinese knot on the top, and three colorful beads with a red tassel at the bottom. We threw them on to tree branches with stones attached to a rope. Several times, on my way to work, from a distance, I could see them dancing in the wind on the trees, and I took pictures of them with my phone. These precious photos are the best gift from Master and give us great encouragement.
Some of these hanging displays would stay in the tree for a long period of time, some were still there after a year.
In fact, everything we do is done with Master’s help, we cannot repay even a tiny fraction of what Master has given us. I will try to be more diligent, do well on my cultivation path forward, and live up to Master’s expectation.
