(Minghui.org) I had been skinny since I was a child. A Chinese medicine doctor said that my spleen and stomach were not in harmony and I could not absorb nutrients, thus my physical condition was poor. I later became the captain of an ocean-going cargo ship. Due to severe seasickness, I couldn’t eat for several days, and my health deteriorated. A Qimen School practitioner told me that there was a Buddhist practice being taught in public and told me to find it. I found Falun Gong in 1994.

I was fortunate to attend Master Li Hongzhi’s teaching classes. After the lectures, my world view and outlook on life changed instantly, and my body also changed accordingly. During the lectures, I discharged a lot of cold substances. Afterward, my appetite increased and my body became stronger. I also recovered from my stomach ulcer. I then started the journey of cultivation practice.

Given Master’s compassionate protection and with my righteous faith in Master and Dafa, I persevered through the most difficult years. Below are several incidents when Master came to my rescue when I was in danger.

Harbor Yokohama Japan: Saved From Ship Collision

I vividly remember a close incident in Yokohama, a harbor near Tokyo Japan, because it was the Chinese New Year in 2012. Our ship was leaving the harbor after loading cargo. I was on duty on the bridge alone at about 7 p.m. I suddenly noticed a large container ship coming toward my port side at a speed nearly three times faster than my ship. I knew the outcome would be terrible if we collided so I immediately made a full right turn. The container ship’s bow was so high that I had to raise my head to see it. I felt like a small fish that was about to be swallowed by a shark. I called out to Master to save me. Then I turned my ship straight because if it continued the right turn, my stern would face the container ship’s bow. I closed my eyes and waited for the collision.

But I didn’t hear anything. I opened my eyes and saw that the container ship also made a left turn. I immediately made a left turn to align my ship to be parallel with the container ship. At one time, our ships were as close as about five meters to each other. In the end, my ship escaped the danger.

My entire crew came up on top of the board and looked terrified. The second officer said that that container ship was one of the three largest container ships in the world, with a total length of more than 300 meters, and our ship is only 70 meters.

At around three o’clock the next morning, I was startled awake by a clear dream. Two ships were traveling parallel, and a huge arm was sandwiched between the two ships, separating them, but the arm was bruised and bloody.

A pilot of a port along the Yangtze River later heard the story and said, “You couldn’t escape at that time because at such a close distance, the two ships sucked each other in, and the collision was inevitable.” He also said that whoever you called for help at that time, that’s whose arm it was. I knew in my heart that it was Master’s arm in another dimension, and it was Master who saved us.

My Wife Nearly Drowned

My wife once visited me when our ship was unloading at Changxing Island harbor. There was no protection at the pier and she accidentally slipped and fell into the water. She couldn’t swim so I jumped into the water from the deck about five meters above the water. When I came up to the surface, she had not come up yet. I was about to dive down to find her, when she suddenly appeared in front of me. I grabbed her and we got on the ship safely with the help of the border patrol and crew members.

I asked her what happened. She said she asked Master to help her and suddenly a force pushed her upward toward the surface. I heard a dock worker say that there was an undercurrent at that pier, and two people had already drowned.

Dock Worker Rescued

Our ship was unloading at a harbor in China in June 2011. While patrolling the deck at about 3 a.m. I found the ship’s mooring ropes were under great stress because of a large tidal range, so I decided to adjust the ropes. When my crew was working at the bow, one of the two dock workers shouted: “He fell into the water!” I ran toward the stern and saw a figure struggling in the water. I unclothed myself to jump into water. But a crew member stopped me and another one handed me a thick rope. I tied the rope around my waist and jumped into the water.

The man had disappeared by then. I dived down and found him about two meters under the water. I pulled him to the surface. He was resuscitated and was saved after being taken to the hospital. The ship’s agent told me with admiration that to save another’s life is to save oneself.

The agent said that there was a ship that had a worker who fell into the water and died. The ship stayed at the anchorage for several months until the shipping company went bankrupt. I told him that I was a Falun Gong practitioner, and my master taught me to be a good person at all times, so I won’t ignore a person in danger. He said that Falun Gong was very good, not at all like what they said on TV.

Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), initiated the persecution Falun Gong, and thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have lost their jobs, and some have lost their families. I also lost the job I loved but I never regretted my choice, which was following Master and the Fa.

I am grateful to Master for saving me from a person whose physical condition was on the verge of collapse, and whose morals were rapidly declining. He has enabled me to understand the true meaning of life and walk on the path of returning to my true nature. Thank you, Master!
