(Minghui.org) I was initially surprised when I read an article published by Minghui, “Practitioners in China, Please Do Not Participate in Overseas Phone Calling Projects”. Some of the texts were highlighted—something I haven’t seen since 2000. Some practitioners’ initial reaction was that Minghui.org was wrong, and this should be handled in certain ways. Others argued over things said in the article and said they were wronged.
We should calm down and remember what Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) said—practitioners should follow Minghui’s position on major issues. This article provided an unusually clear position of Minghui. In addition to exposing this incident, eliminating negative elements, and stopping this behavior, this article also reminds practitioners in China involved in this to stay out of danger.
The environment inside China is very challenging. But does it mean it’s impossible, or that we need to deviate from Master’s teachings? The phone call project involves organizing large-scale group online study in China, and involves using funds from overseas. Regardless of who is involved, through his teachings Master told us what we should not do. Some said they’ve done this for a while, and it was fine since no one was arrested. There have been many lessons about this kind of behavior in the past and I won’t talk about the details here.
These are my current understandings. Because it involves many practitioners inside China, I wanted to share my thoughts with you. I hope we can all calm down, read this alert from Minghui and set aside our personal notions.
Avoiding Persecution
Since Minghui called to stop this behavior so directly, there may be reasons behind it. My personal understanding is that, Minghui has seen the danger and acted to stop imminent large-scale persecutions. This is also Master’s compassion for us.
Some practitioners resist, thinking their project to save people was not accepted. Those who stirred up issues need to be exposed. Minghui’s position is to end their involvement in this project.
The Minghui Editorial Board has not yet published an official notice; instead the article asked that practitioners inside China no longer be involved. I think we practitioners in China should cherish this opportunity, and peacefully accept it. We should just return to the path arranged by Master for us to cultivate and save people.
Safety risks emerged soon after this project started. But we did not follow Master’s teachings and correct ourselves. Safety issues and all kinds of human attachments surfaced, but Master gave us time to rectify ourselves.
Several years have now passed and these issues lingered. Some practitioners even recruited others in order to expand the project. The safety risks and the danger has increased. I hope practitioners in China remember to cherish our cultivation journey, stop their involvement in the overseas phone call project, and walk well the remaining path in an open and aboveboard manner.
