(Minghui.org) I am a doctor who works in the countryside. I started practicing Falun Dafa after July 20th, 1999, the date when the persecution was initiated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). When I first started practicing, my wife, out of fear of the persecution, strongly opposed my practicing and often threatened to divorce me. Later, through contact with other Dafa practitioners, she was inspired by their noble qualities and high realm, and she also began practicing cultivation.
She now actively cooperates with me when clarifying the truth, and persuading people to quit the CCP and its youth organizations, and she does so enthusiastically. A friend who is not a practitioner was deeply moved by my wife and said, “Falun Dafa is really powerful. At first, your wife wanted a divorce, but later she started cultivation!”
My workplace is a small clinic where I interact with villagers. I talk to them about Falun Dafa and distribute truth-clarification materials without holding fear in my heart. At the beginning, due to my lack of rationality and clarity about Dafa’s principles, I was reported to the police by someone who had been misled, and I suffered persecution.
During detention, I heard that a patient insisted on coming to my home for treatment. “I want to be treated by Dr. Chao (referring to me),” they said, “and I want him to treat me.” There was also an elderly woman who brought her twin grandsons to see me for treatment. A senior colleague, who is jealous and skeptical, told her, “Those who practice Falun Gong are possessed by evil spirits. Be careful not to be ruined.” The elderly woman immediately refuted him with, “You’re talking nonsense!” I knew Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, was creating a good cultivation environment for me. Thank you, Master!
One family, spanning three generations, came to me for treatment. The grandparents understood the truth about Dafa and quit the CCP, but the daughter-in-law was hesitant. After speaking with her several times, she finally declared: “I quit!” Later, this family moved into the city and lived a better life.
There was a colleague at the clinic who’s wife had a large blister on her back, which couldn’t be removed despite various treatments. Seeing that I often told patients that reciting the two auspicious phrases, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” can improve health and cure diseases quickly, she also wanted to try and receive blessings. She asked my wife how to recite the phrases, and my wife told her how to sincerely recite them. A week later, she found that the blister had disappeared.
In rural areas with limited resources, some patients have difficulty traveling so they would often request home visits. I always respond promptly and take the opportunity to clarify the truth and persuade them to quit the CCP.
A local high school teacher was diagnosed with leukemia. I clarified the truth to him, and he understood it clearly. He withdrew from the CCP and its two affiliated youth organization and often recited the two auspicious phrases. More than ten years have passed, and he is still doing well. Another teacher from the same school had the same illness but refused to accept the truth. He passed away shortly thereafter.
There was a woman suffering from cervical cancer. After undergoing radiation and chemotherapy, her health deteriorated significantly. My wife visited her, clarified the truth to her, and left a copy of the book Zhuan Falun for her to read.
When my wife visited her again the next day, she found that the book was untouched. My wife intended to take it back, but the woman insisted on keeping it, saying she would return it after reading it. Later, she told my wife, “I recite the two auspicious phrases every day. The more I recited, the more comfortable I felt, and the cooler my heart became. I would recite them hundreds of times a day.” Now, this woman is alive and well, helping take care of her grandchildren in another city.
Two years ago, around the Chinese New Year, the son of a patient returned home from Shenzhen City to celebrate the holiday. He stopped by to pick me up to visit his elderly father. During the trip, I clarified the truth to him and gave him a USB drive containing truth-clarification information. When we returned, he locked the car door and refused to let me out. He took out a hundred yuan from his wallet, saying it was for me to buy myself some nice tea. I told him that as Dafa cultivators, we do not accept gifts or money from others. He finally had to unlock the car door and let me go.
During breaks, I would usually ride my motorcycle with my wife to distant towns or neighboring counties to distribute informational materials and clarify the truth face to face. We work well together. Whenever we encountered predestined people, I would stop the motorcycle, she would get off to hand them the materials and talk to them, and I would assist by explaining additional facts alongside her.
We often went to residential areas, delivering the materials door to door and hanging them on doorknobs. We understand well the value of these materials and aim to maximize their impact without wasting them.
Once, when we were visiting a neighboring town, on our way back home, we handed the materials to an elderly man. He expressed his gratitude and said, “You are doing truly great deeds.” I knew this was Master encouraging us through the mouth of this man.
Sometimes, there would be things that made me regretful. Last winter, when I was delivering the materials in the countryside, I saw a group of elderly people enjoying the sunshine in front of a house. I offered some materials to them, but they refused. One of them arrogantly said, “We are all illiterate, read it out loud to us.” I didn’t say anything and left. Later I was upset at myself and regretted not reading the materials to them.
Over these years of clarifying the truth, I have met many people. Some of them have said, “I know you, I’ve read everything you gave me and still have the Dafa materials.” There were also those who didn’t listen, would mock me, or threaten to report me to the police. With Master’s protection, I met with no danger.
These are just some of the experiences I’ve had with truth clarification. There is still a long way to go compared to what Master requires of us. Compared to other practitioners, I haven’t achieved much in many aspects, but I am determined and confident to catch up with other practitioners and keep pace with the progress of Fa-rectification.
