(Minghui.org) Ms. Huang Huijun’s family received a call from the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison on January 19, 2024 and was told that she had been admitted there to serve a four-year term.
Ms. Huang, a resident of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, was arrested on January 18, 2023 for posting self-adhesive stickers bearing information about Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999. The arresting officers from the Dongxing Police Station raided her home that night and confiscated her Falun Gong books. They took her to the Jieyang City Detention Center the next afternoon.
Ms. Huang’s family was never notified of her indictment, trial, or sentencing. While they received the call from the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison, they were not told the exact date of her prison admission.
