(Minghui.org) After more than 20 years of cultivation, I have met many people while clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa. One of my most memorable experiences involved a predestined woman, who finally began cultivating.
Chance Meeting with a Predestined Person
On my way home after clarifying the truth one day ten years ago, I saw a middle-aged woman knitting a sweater in front of an old furniture store near my home. She nodded and smiled at me. I thought that she might have a predestined relationship with Dafa.
I walked over and started chatting with her. After a while, I talked about Falun Dafa. She was curious and asked me if I was afraid, because practicing Falun Dafa was dangerous, according to the TV.
I said, “You cannot believe the CCP’s lies. The stories such as the so-called self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square are all propaganda that slanders Falun Dafa. These stories mislead people and push them away from traditional values.”
“I feel like I just woke up from a dream,” she said, “Can you come back tomorrow and tell me more about this?”
The next day, I told this woman the facts about Falun Dafa clearly and thoroughly. From my years of experience in truth clarification, I could sense that this woman had a predestined relationship with Dafa. All sentient beings came for the Fa, and I knew I should do my best to guide her to cultivation.
When I went back to see her on the third day, I brought Zhuan Falun, the main teachings of Falun Dafa. I suggested that we read the book together, but she said she was illiterate. So I read the first lecture to her while she listened carefully.
The situation changed on the fourth day. As soon as I entered her house, she peeled an apple for me and then said calmly, “Don’t come back tomorrow. You and I are as different as chalk and cheese. I know you’re paid to do this.” I could tell she had been deceived by the CCP’s lies. She continued, “I have a business and don’t have time for this. I know you are a good person and Falun Dafa is wrongly persecuted. But it won’t be good for either of us if we’re reported to the police.”
I immediately knew that the old forces had interfered with her, and I should not let them succeed. I said to her firmly, “I don’t want you to be like me. I came here every day just because I wanted to share with you this great Dafa, so that your coming to this world would not be in vain. I don’t get a penny from anyone for coming here. How about you make your decision after we’ve finished all nine lectures of Zhuan Falun. That will only take a little bit of your time, right?”
She nodded happily. I felt that Master Li’s (the founder of Falun Dafa) was encouraging me and I was able to finish reading the whole book with her.
Becoming a Practitioner
From then on, I went to her house two or three times a week and studied Dafa teachings with her. After a while, I gave her the audio tape of Master’s lectures in Guangzhou and she was very happy to receive them.
But just as she was about to start cultivating, another unexpected thing happened. Her son called me over to their place and said angrily, “Auntie, if you come to teach my mother the exercises again, I will report you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
I knew that her son had also been deceived by the CCP’s lies, so I said, “Surely you wouldn’t do something so irrational and ridiculous? You have a successful career. You’ve seen your mother’s physical and mental improvement since she started doing the exercises. The whole family benefits when one person practices. You have seen the goodness that Dafa has brought to your whole family.”
I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the vicious elements behind him. With Master’s help, I was able to keep going to her house to study Dafa teachings with her.
This practitioner has now been cultivating firmly and diligently, and has been doing the three things relatively smoothly. For a long time now, she has been able to read Zhuan Falun by herself. I sometimes think of a phrase from one of Master Li’s poems, “Before coming to this earth we promised: Whoever found the Way would share the news...” (“Because We Promised Each Other,” Hong Yin IV)
It’s so true! I found Dafa and Master and I also found this fellow practitioner. I believe we are the happiest, luckiest people in the world!
