(Minghui.org) Practitioners held several events recently to introduce Falun Dafa to people in many cities throughout Italy. They included on Via Veneto in Rome, Sardinia, and other places.
Practitioners held events at the Piazza Vittorio and outside the Chinese Embassy in Rome on February 24 and 29.
During an information day in Rome on February 24 at the Piazza Vittorio, where many Chinese businesses are located, practitioners demonstrated the exercises and displayed banners and posters. They explained to passersby what Falun Dafa is and how practitioners are suppressed in China for their faith.
They explained that Falun Dafa is a meditation system that consists of five exercises and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Since July 1999, however, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has severely persecuted the group and many practitioners were detained, tortured, and even killed for their organs.
A woman from Rome was vacationing in Sardinia. She and her granddaughter read the posters and talked with practitioners. Several days before that, the woman said she saw an event practitioners held in Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, and received some information. She said she was interested in learning the practice and would contact local practitioners when she returned home.
Practitioners demonstrate the Falun Dafa exercises on March 3 in the center of Mestre.
Passersby read posters and sign petitions calling for an end to the persecution in China.
Additional events also took place in the center of Mestre outside of Venice and Piazza Mattera on March 3, during which practitioners demonstrated the exercises and told people about Falun Dafa. Many people stopped at the booth to talk with practitioners and ask questions. When they learned how practitioners were mistreated in China, many people signed the petition to end the brutality. Some were also interested in learning the practice.
