(Minghui.org) I often dozed off while meditating, and this went one for a long time. I made up my mind to change, so I sat in front of a big mirror while I meditated, but soon after I closed my eyes, I dozed off again.
Master saw that I had the heart to do well, so he helped me. One day while meditating, I felt a tap on my right side. “Oops.” I realized I was not sitting up straight. That was the problem! I straightened up, but shortly after that, I fell back into my usual posture. It was a habit that had developed over a long period of time.
A week later, I felt Master’s fashen (Law Body) take something out of my right shoulder. The state of my cultivation went back and forth for a while. I felt it was because my main consciousness was not strong.
Master mentioned in the Fa:
“Some people always say, “Teacher, once I close my eyes my body will swing.” I would say that it doesn’t necessarily need to be like that. You have already developed a habit of abandoning your Main Consciousness. Once you close your eyes, you put your Main Consciousness to rest, and then it disappears. You have already developed this habit.” (Lecture Eight, Zhuan Falun)
I was determined to do well. I began to memorize “Your Main Consciousness Should Dominate” in Zhuan Falun. I recite it whenever I have time, to keep my mind clear and clean. Master said:
“Most people, however, can remove and resist it with very strong thoughts from themselves (a strong Main Consciousness).” (“Your Main Consciousness Should Dominate,” Zhuan Falun)
I realized that this was why I couldn’t change what happened when I meditated. I didn’t have strong enough righteous thoughts to support my main consciousness, so I didn’t make a breakthrough for a long time.
I made up my mind to change myself by listening attentively to Master's instructions to do as he said, guarding my thoughts, keeping my body upright, and following whatever he said.
After cultivating for 20 years, I realized I was not following Master’s instructions closely: Whenever I conjoined my hands, I relaxed and dozed off. After I realized my problem, I was able to sit upright, keep my head up, and focus on my mind. I now feel the energy flow strongly between my hands and arms, and I feel warm. When I meet the standard with every movement and posture, I can sit with my back straight for an hour without dozing off!
One day when I was meditating, I felt like I was floating lightly in the air one yard above the ground. It was a very comfortable and wonderful feeling, and it was like that for three days in a row.
From that point on, as long as I pay attention to my thoughts, follow Master’s instructions, and keep the correct posture, I can feel the tingling, warm current flow through my body. It took me years to get through this, but I am happy I finally caught on.
