(Minghui.org) Practitioners peacefully rallied near the Chinese Consulate on April 21, 2024 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the April 25 appeal and to call on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to end the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa and practitioners in China. The rally attracted the attention of residents.
Practitioners held a rally on April 21, 2024 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the April 25 appeal.
Practitioners displayed banners which had messages such as “25th Anniversary of 4.25 Peaceful Appeal,” “Falun Dafa Is Good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Good,” “Support 4.29 Million People Who Quit the Communist Party,” “Say NO to Communist Ideology Infiltration in Malaysia,” “The Chinese Communist Party Is Not China,” etc, which attracted the attention of many passersby.
A practitioner representative also gave a speech in Chinese and Malay in which he pointed out, “Through this event, we hope that Malaysia’s government, police officers and the kind Malaysian people can understand this matter about the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa, that is still happening in China.
“We hope that the United Nations (UN), the Malaysian government, the authorities, non-government organizations and all kind people throughout Malaysia can come together to condemn the CCP’s inhumane actions.
“Everyone should enjoy the right to practice their own belief freely. Falun Dafa cultivators in China should not be persecuted and tortured to death by the CCP just because of their persistence in believing in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and Falun Dafa, which is beneficial to one’s mind and body. As they did not give up their cultivation, these practitioners suffered inhumane persecution in China. They are being arrested, illegally detained, sent to labor camps and sentenced to jail. During which, they suffered from all sorts of brutal tortures and even have their organs being harvested while they are still alive. This is unacceptable to the world.”
Practitioner representatives submitted a letter to the Chinese consulate, which attracted the attention from many local officials.

Background: What Is the April 25 Appeal?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries worldwide. Millions of people have embraced the teachings—which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance as well as five gentle exercises—and experienced improved health and well-being.
On April 23 & 24, 1999, police officials in Tianjin, a city near Beijing, assaulted and arrested dozens of practitioners who had gathered outside a magazine office to discuss errors in a recently-published article attacking Falun Dafa. As word spread of the arrests and more practitioners inquired with officials, they were told they had to take their appeals to Beijing.
The following day, April 25, some 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners spontaneously gathered at the Central Appeals office in Beijing, as they had been instructed by Tianjin officials. The gathering was peaceful and orderly. Several Falun Dafa representatives were called in to meet with Chinese Premier, Zhu Rongji, and members of his staff. That evening, practitioners’ concerns were answered. The arrested practitioners in Tianjin were released and everyone went home.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP, perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and issued an order to ban Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999.
