(Minghui.org) When writing articles for the RTC (Rapid Truth-Clarification) platform, I’ve learned that a good article can touch people’s hearts. We should begin writing the article with a caring heart, and include information that people want to know. Then we should calmly lay out the facts in an eloquent manner, easy to understand, and organized way. As I understand, a good article is like silent water that can melt the reader’s heart.
An article is broadcasted more than 10,000 times on the RTC platform. People in China have all kinds of opinions and thoughts. For example, some were annoyed by the daily COVID tests, while others felt more at ease if they were tested, and there were those who thought the government providing free tests was a great benefit.
My experience tells me that it is better to avoid subjective judgment or jumping to conclusions. Without a step-by-step preparation, solid evidence, and analysis based on facts, the person who receives the phone call can easily hang up or refuse to listen.
When I first started writing, I often jumped to conclusions. After practitioners’ several reminders, I realized that I was too opinionated.
During the pandemic, incidents happened almost every other day that caught people’s attention. Thus, it was easy to clarify the truth and catch people’s hearts based on the facts. In order to gather information, I saw many media reports and videos made by practitioners. Some of them analyzed and narrated the events in a logical and convincing way. Their wisdom was the result of letting go of human notions and “self,” and practicing humility to gain inspiration from Master’s teachings.
I often reminded myself to let go of human notions and put myself in others’ shoes. I asked myself questions such as “If I were living in China and indoctrinated by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) propaganda, how could others open my mind and help me understand the facts?”
I also told myself not to follow the crowd, or my personal preferences to write. A piece of news might be useful for truth-clarification, but it could be fake. If I let my self-righteousness and zealotry take over, I could be misled and end up exaggerating or providing false information, which could cause the opposite effect and push people away.
We should start by using facts that are acceptable to ordinary people, explain things in a level-headed manner, see through the facade, analyze the reasons behind the thought, and finally advise people of the CCP’s vicious and murderous nature.
A practitioner in Canada worked with me and was a great help. I was grateful for Master’s arrangement. She possessed qualities that I didn’t have, and we complemented each other. We co-wrote many articles to awaken people. She was patient, genuinely listened to others, and displayed no ego.
I gained more experience talking to Chinese people on the phone and in person, and had a better understanding of their thoughts and misconceptions. This made me overconfident, prone to zealotry, and arrogant. When I saw a piece of news that was useful, I could quickly come up with a talking point and expand on it.
The practitioner listened to me patiently and thought carefully before giving her my opinion through a number of questions. She calmly discussed with me and let me see my problems―impatience and egotism. This was especially apparent when I knew the facts and didn’t have the patience to listen to her.
I began to realize that I had a big ego, attachments, and human notions that had to be removed. When I learned to listen with patience, I was able to come up with better ideas, and the wisdom from Dafa was revealed to me.
As we collaborated better, our work efficiency improved. We have revised many short articles that were previously written and made them more concise, clear, and persuasive. This practitioner was meticulous. After finishing an article, we looked at each word and sentence, and sometimes rearranged the order to make the article sound more logical, fluid, and easy to read. As a result, I have become more meticulous.
Master said, “...he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details.” (“Sage,” Essentials For Further Advancement)
I used to be careless and often overlooked details, but I learned to pay attention to details after working with her.
Falun Dafa bestows wisdom on every practitioner. We shared our thoughts on how to better talk to people face to face, and she told me, “My state of mind was not good one day. My thoughts were suppressed and I didn’t feel confident, so I recited ‘Dafa is the wisdom of the Creator.’ (“On Dafa”, Zhuan Falun) I recited it countless times as I walked, and was suddenly enlightened. I thought, ‘The Fa I’m studying is the Creator’s wisdom, which is larger than the universe, and something unfathomable. Now that I’ve learned the Creator’s wisdom, I should be able to clarify the truth wisely.’ My thoughts then became clear, my wisdom emerged, and I was confident. That day, I used numerous words that I had never thought of, and helped many people quit the CCP.”
One day, I recalled a verse from the second exercise, Falun Standing Stance, with four wheel-holding positions.
“Shenghui Zengli” (Wisdom is Enhanced and Powers Strengthened) (Chapter II - Illustrations and Explanations of the Exercise Movements, The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection)
Thus holding the wheel can increase wisdom. That is truly profound. I should do it and increase my wisdom. Master has given us unlimited wisdom through the Fa principles and exercises.
Master said, “...whoever enlightens obtains.” (Lecture Eight, Zhuan Falun)
Master’s words told me that we should become enlightened in Dafa. As long as we are enlightened we can truly gain the wisdom given by Dafa and use it to awaken others. Of course this requires giving up all human notions, so the true self can play its role, assimilate to Dafa, and use the wisdom to clarify the truth and guide more people to learn Falun Dafa.
