(Minghui.org) A Holistic Healing Fair was held in Mississauga, Canada, on April 28, 2024. The event promoted holistic healing through eight main areas: body, nutrients, mood, social interaction, spirit, intellect, finances, and environment.
Falun Dafa is a good match with the event’s theme, because it is a practice that has brought physical and mental benefits to millions around the world. The event organizers have extended invitations to Falun Dafa practitioners many times to join Holistic Healing Fairs that they have organized in different cities.
Many of the visitors to the event expressed hope of finding ways to alleviate their illnesses, anxiety, and troubles. Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and its five sets of slow, soothing exercises can help people regain a balanced state.
Many visitors came to the Falun Dafa booth to learn the exercises. Some said they felt that their whole body emitted warmth and they felt very good after trying the exercises, so they decided to buy a copy of Zhuan Falun, Falun Dafa's main book. After hearing practitioners talking about the benefits of the practice, many people inquired about practice sites in Mississauga.

“People Need to Abide by Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance”
Vanessa Wilson, one of the event organizers for the Holistic Healing Fair.
Vanessa is one of the event organizers of the Holistic Healing Fair. She stopped at the Falun Dafa booth and said, “When I learned about Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, I felt joy from within. I think that these are critical principles that people need to abide by.
“People are so baffled by the hustle and bustle of society and are exhausted by all the matters around them that they have forgotten to bring themselves back to their fundamental nature of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Because of that, I really like what you are doing,” she affirmed.
Vanessa also mentioned that she attended a Shen Yun Performing Arts performance in Toronto last month and she felt it was really great. Through the performance, she learned about the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.
“My heart is with all those people who are suffering from persecution right now,” Vanessa said. “It is really heartbreaking to know that these kind of things are still happening in the world today. It is really important to let more people know about this matter. The whole world should know about it. The persecution is wrong and I hope that people can take action quickly to stop this persecution.”
Feeling Lighter and More Energetic After Practicing the Exercises
After learning the first set of exercises at the Falun Dafa booth, Divahd (middle) said that she felt relaxed and that she will definitely register to attend a Falun Dafa class online.
Ms. Divahd is an administrative assistant from Toronto who likes practicing yoga. When she visited the Falun Dafa booth, a practitioner told her about Dafa, and how this cultivation practice originated in the East. Ms. Divahd tried the first exercise – Buddha Stretching A Thousand Arms.
Ms. Divahd described her experience of doing this exercise, “I immediately felt relaxed. This is a very good start. I felt lighter and more energetic. I will definitely go online to register for the online Falun Dafa class.”
A practitioner explained that the practice also requires practitioners to abide by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance in their daily lives. Ms. Divahd said that she loved those moral values. “I like and cherish the purpose that Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance brings,” she said. “I think that I can attain self-improvement if I combine these principles with the practicing of the five sets of exercises that I learned today. There must be many people in the world like me, who are attracted by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance that resonate within us.”
“I Felt Energy Moving in My Body”
Helen learned the exercises at the Falun Dafa booth. While practicing the exercises, not only did her body feel totally relaxed, she also felt energy moving in her body.
Helen, from Guelph, has an interest in meditation. She stopped by the booth to learn the Falun Dafa exercises.
Helen said she felt very comfortable when she was practicing the exercises. She shared, “I liked following along with the practitioner doing the exercises. It felt really good and made me feel totally relaxed. I could feel energy moving within my body. I also want to try doing the exercises in different environments.”
Helen thanked the practitioners as she left. “Thank you for telling me about the free Falun Dafa class online,” she said. “I will go to the website to learn more about the practice.”
“Warm Energy in My Body While I Was Practicing the Exercises”
After learning the first three sets of exercises at the Falun Dafa booth, Catherine noted that she felt totally relaxed.
Catherine is a yoga lover who lives in Mississauga. After seeing the Falun Dafa booth, she learned the first three sets of exercises from practitioners.
After practicing the exercises, Catherine shared her experience. “I really loved practicing the exercises,” she said. “I like these kind of movements. This practice is very good. My body felt relaxed and I even felt warm energy within my body.”
The practitioner then explained that in addition to the five sets of exercises, Falun Dafa also requires those who practice to abide by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance in everything that they do. Catherine shared her thoughts. “I think that the practice can help people attain a balanced state both physically and mentally through adjusting one’s own mentality. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are the fundamentals of people’s interaction with society. I want to know more, so I will go online to continue learning about Falun Dafa.”
“People Must Have More Sincerity, Kindness and Tolerance”
Anna from Toronto had heard about Falun Dafa a long time ago. She recalled, “I heard that this is a form of cultivation that has been forbidden in China. People are being persecuted for just practicing the exercises and doing the meditation of Falun Dafa. We should pay more attention to this group which is being deprived of human rights.
“Today is the first time that I am learning the exercises of Falun Dafa. I think that this practice is very good. Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance can help the world function normally and help one’s life to progress forward. There should be more sincerity, kindness, and tolerance among people. Be it towards ourselves, the society, or all matters, we should treat everything with Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance,” Anna said.
