(Minghui.org) Volunteer Falun Dafa practice site assistants from various counties and cities in Taiwan gathered at the Chientan Youth Activity Center in Taipei City from June 15 to 16, 2024, to participate in a two-day and one-night group Fa study and cultivation experience sharing conference. Many attendees were deeply moved by the stories shared by fellow assistants during the experience sharing conference on the afternoon of the 16th.

Businesswoman: Compassion and Forbearance
Yuyun, who does wholesale business in Chiayi, said she benefited a lot from the Fa study and experience sharing conference. “I realized that I have many shortcomings,” she said, “and I was able to correct them in this large group environment. The energy field at a Fa study and sharing conference is really good.”
She shared a story about how she improved her xinxing. Yuyun couldn’t sleep because her roommate at the conference was not feeling well and coughed and snored all night. She felt unhappy at first, but when she thought about what she discussed in the Fa study session during the day about kindness, she quickly realized that her unhappy feeling was not in line with Dafa. “I immediately thought, why am I encountering such a thing? There must be something I need to cultivate, which is to be tolerant of fellow practitioners.” She said, “I should have compassion for her.”
Since she couldn’t sleep, Yuyun decided to put on her headphones and practice the Falun Dafa exercises. When she finished all five sets of exercises, her roommate also got up. Only then did her roommate realize that Yuyun couldn’t sleep because of the noise she made. She kept apologizing. Yuyun gently comforted her, and went back to bed after her roommate went out to join the morning group practice.
Yuyun said, “True kindness is not caring about one’s own gains and losses, but thinking about others. You sincerely do it for others and set your own affairs aside. This is what I gained from participating in this event.”
Learning to Be Grateful
Dejing, a veteran and a volunteer assistant in Tainan City
Dejing from Tainan City took on the job of volunteer assistant last month. He said, “When I realized that being an assistant is also my path of cultivation, I accepted the task. The journey of cultivation is not easy. There’s also a process of understanding while studying the Fa. Once you understand it, you must do it.”
During the two days of the gathering, Dejing realized that he really had to be grateful and cherish the situation that practitioners in his area had a stable Fa-study site, a fixed place and time every week to study the Fa and share their thoughts because a fellow practitioner selflessly provides the venue. He gained a lot from listening to many practitioners’ speeches, and said he would take these good experiences back to share with local practitioners.
Environmental Engineer: Learning to Let Go of My Ego
Mengshian, an environmental engineer from Kaohsiung, is usually very busy with work. He said that he was very happy to participate in this two-day Fa study. He rarely has such an opportunity to set aside a whole period of time to study the Fa and talk with fellow practitioners.
What impressed Mengshian was that several practitioners discussed the importance of distinguishing acquired concepts. He said, “We should be aware of the source of our thoughts. Some bad thoughts are acquired notions. We should not follow them. We should use righteous thoughts in everything, and view things according to the principles of the Fa (Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance). This point, shared by a fellow practitioner, touched me deeply.”
Mengshian also felt that he was able to let go of his ego after the two-day event. He said, “Sometimes when other practitioners express their opinions, I feel that they are trying to make trouble for me. When I look inward, it turns out that this is because I want fellow practitioners to be obedient and cooperate. If I’m prejudiced against a person it’s easy to create conflicts and estrangement.” He added, “I want to let go of this strong ego, so when I work with other practitioners, I can look at everything rationally. I should also be kind to fellow practitioners, treat them with kindness, put aside my ego, and quietly make up for my shortcomings.”
