(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 3 cities or counties in 2 provinces, where at least 5 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Ruifang Arrested
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Fengjie Arrested
3. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Mu Defeng and Ms. Yang Shizhen Arrested
4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Fangqiong Arrested
1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Ruifang Arrested
Ms. Zhang Ruifang was arrested by officers from the Xiyuhe Police Station in Qingyang District on the afternoon of July 8, 2024. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Zhang was being detained in the police station at the time of this report.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Fengjie Arrested
Ms. Zhao Fengjie from Xinchengzi District was arrested at her mother’s home by officers from the Xinchengzi Street Police Station on the afternoon of July 3, 2024 when she was taking care of her ailing mother. The officers tried to take Ms. Zhao to have a physical exam, but she didn’t cooperate. She was denied admission to the detention center due to lack of a physical exam. Ms. Zhao was released at around midnight.
3. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Mu Defeng and Ms. Yang Shizhen Arrested
Ms. Mu Defeng and Ms. Yang Shizhen were arrested when talking to people about Falun Gong in Bailu Scenery Site on the morning of June 22, 2024, and taken to the Bailu Police Station. Two officers, led by local official Xiao Yikai, ransacked Ms. Mu’s home, but found nothing related to Falun Gong. Ms. Mu’s family was deeply terrified and couldn’t fall asleep that night.
4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Fangqiong Arrested
Ms. Zhong Fangqiong was forced to live away from home around June 2023 to avoid being illegally arrested. She was arrested again on July 7, 2024 and detained in the Chengdu City Detention Center. Her arrest has since been approved and the police are in the process of submitting her case to the procuratorate.
