(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a series of activities in Lake Eola Park in Orlando on July 20, 2024, the 25th anniversary of their efforts to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.
Practitioners do the Falun Dafa exercises as part of the day’s events.
They held a candlelight vigil in the evening to mourn fellow practitioners who died in the CCP’s persecution.
Local residents and tourists talked with practitioners to learn about Falun Dafa and the persecution. They expressed their support for practitioners’ efforts to end the CCP’s atrocities.

Two YouTube hosts interviewed practitioners about their peaceful resistance to the CCP’s persecution. They both said they agreed with Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They said the world has become more materialistic, which isn’t good for people.

Weide, contact person for the Falun Dafa Association in Florida, calls on people to help end the CCP’s persecution.
Youling recounted how her husband Zhou Deyong, an engineer and Falun Dafa practitioner in Shandong Province, China, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for practicing Falun Dafa. “Our family was only allowed to see him once after he was taken away in April 2021, but they haven’t been allowed to visit him after he was transferred to a prison in Shandong Province in 2023.” Youling said that she and the rest of her family were under tremendous anxiety and feared for her husband’s safety.
Eight U.S. House Representatives and Senators in Florida wrote to Secretary of State Blinken, urging the U.S. State Department to take action. The 2023 Annual Report on China’s human rights by the CECC included Mr. Zhou Deyong’s case. Blinken affirmed that “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
Youling expressed her appreciation of support from the U.S. government and called for the international society to to collectively end the CCP’s atrocities.
