(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in the annual Independence Day parade in downtown Columbus, Ohio, on July 3, 2024. They’ve participated in this parade every year for more than 20 years, and through their participation, they hope to bring the beauty of Falun Dafa to people.
The parade, themed, “Red, White & Boom!” began at 5:30 p.m. and the route wound through the city center. Dark clouds, strong wind and occasional drizzle didn’t affect the enthusiasm of any of the parade participants. Despite the inclement weather, many people lined the streets and applauded and waved to practitioners as they went by.

The practitioners’ entry included a float, a waist drum team and banners worded in English or Chinese with such messages as, “Falun Dafa Is Good” and “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.” When practitioners passed by the rostrum, the Master of Ceremonies introduced Falun Dafa twice.
The waist drum team, composed of over ten practitioners, played drums accompanied by the melody, “Falun Dafa Is Good” and other music. People applauded and gave practitioners a thumbs up, while others took photos.

The practitioners’ float had a banner with a brief introduction to Falun Dafa and was decorated with lotus flowers and two large American flags. Three practitioners demonstrated the exercises on the float, sharing the beauty of the Falun Dafa exercises with parade spectators.

Many people waved and applauded as practitioners walked by. They were pleased to take the brochures practitioners distributed and some said they wanted to learn more about Falun Dafa.
