(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Fu Kui Taken to Prison
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Tianfu Arrested
3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhu Yuling Detained
4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Chen Fanghua Arrested
5. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Qiulan and Ms. Xue Guanghui Detained
6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Meihua Arrested
7. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Ping Arrested
8. [Beijing] Ms. Wen Yuhong Arrested
9. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhou Liang Harassed
10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Fen’s Appeal Case Heard by the Appeals Court
1. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Fu Kui Taken to Prison
Ms. Fu Kui, 50, has been held in custody for over a year. It was recently confirmed that she has been sentenced to two years in prison, her appeal has been rejected by the intermediate court, and she has been admitted to Nantong Women’s Prison.
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Tianfu Arrested
Mr. Zhu Tianfu from Caiyuan Village, Jiulong Sub-district, Fangzi District, was arrested in Zibo City on August 7, 2024. He is currently being held in the Weifang City Detention Center.
3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhu Yuling Detained
Ms. Zhu Yuling, 51, was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong on August 1, 2024. She was held in Nanchang City First Detention Center for 12 days and released on August 12.
4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Chen Fanghua Arrested
Ms. Chen Fanghua was arrested on July 18, 2024. After 15 days of administrative detention, she was transferred to another detention center for continued persecution.
5. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Qiulan and Ms. Xue Guanghui Detained
Ms. Li Qiulan and Ms. Xue Guanghui from Dakoutun Town, Baodi District, were reported to the police on August 1, 2024, while talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested and their homes ransacked by officers from the Dakoutun Town Police Station. Both practitioners were given 15 days in the Baodi District Detention Center. It’s not clear whether they have been released at the time of writing.
6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Meihua Arrested
Ms. Yang Meihua, about 70, from Liuting Sub-district, Chengyang District, was arrested in early August 2024, and her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Jimo Detention Center.
7. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Ping Arrested
Ms. Zhang Ping, who lives on her own, went missing in May 2024. It was reported that she was arrested by officers of the Baohe District Domestic Security Division for talking to people about Falun Gong.
8. [Beijing] Ms. Wen Yuhong Arrested
Ms. Wen Yuhong from Huanghuazhen Village, Huairou District, was arrested by officer Wang Wei of the Huairou District Domestic Security Division and officers from the Huangkan Police Station on July 16, 2024. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Wen was interrogated overnight and given 15 days of detention. Due to her high blood pressure, she was denied admission to the Shunyi Detention Center, and released. The police came to harass her again on July 19.
9. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhou Liang Harassed
Ms. Zhou Liang, from Meijiang District, is in her 30s. She talked to her friends on WeChat last year about a plan to move abroad. Seven state security officers went to her home on the morning of August 6, 2024, searched the home, and took photos of her. She was summoned to the police station in the afternoon and questioned whether she had contact with Falun Gong practitioners outside of China.
10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Fen’s Appeal Case Heard by the Appeals Court
Ms. Li Fen was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison by the Ganjingzi District Court on July 1, 2024. She appealed to the Dalian Intermediate Court. The judge, Zheng Wenlong, held a hearing of her appeal case at 1:30 p.m. on August 8, 2024. It’s not clear whether a verdict was announced.
