(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, for 25 years and practitioners from around the world continue striving to end this brutal persecution. To prevent members of the CCP and Chinese people from participating in this crime, practitioners in Germany and Switzerland delivered open letters to Chinese embassies and consulates in these countries, calling to end the persecution.
A practitioner read an open letter addressed to Du Chunguo, consul general at the Chinese Consulate General in Düsseldorf, Germany, and then delivered the letter to the consulate mailbox on July 24.
A practitioner read the open letter addressed to Tong Defa, consul general at the Chinese Consulate General in Munich, Germany, and then delivered the letter to the consulate mailbox on July 25.
A practitioner delivered the open letter addressed to Huang Dieyang, consul general at the Chinese Consulate General in Frankfurt, Germany, to the consulate mailbox on July 26.
A practitioner delivered the open letter addressed to Wu Ken, ambassador at the Embassy of China in Berlin, Germany, to the embassy mailbox on July 28.
A practitioner in Berm reads the open letter addressed to Wang Shiting, ambassador at the Embassy of China in Bern, Switzerland on July 27.
Excerpts of Practitioners’ Open Letters to Chinese Embassies and Consulates General
The persecution of Falun Dafa, initiated by the CCP in 1999, has no legal basis. Practitioners kindly wish to remind the CCP’s ambassadors and consuls via these open letters, to reevaluate their attitude and actions regarding the persecution of Falun Dafa, and to consider the far-reaching consequences of participating in the persecution. Practitioners also pointed out them that the CCP is facing increasing pressure from the world and expressed hope they would withdraw from the CCP soon.
In the open letters, practitioners called:
1. To ensure the legal implementation of the Chinese Constitution, to immediately stop the persecution of Falun Dafa, and to hold the responsible people accountable.
The crimes the CCP committed against practitioners are well-known. Minghui Report: The 20-Year Persecution of Falun Gong in China records the methods that the CCP used to persecute practitioners over the 20 year period, from 1999 to 2019 when the report was written. The methods used shock every person of justice and conscience.
Now more and more governments and elected politicians openly support practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution.
The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed the Falun Gong Protection Act on June 25, 2024. The act condemns the CCP for persecuting Falun Gong, including the crime of harvesting organs from living practitioners. It imposes sanctions on foreign persons who have knowingly and directly engaged in or facilitated the involuntary harvesting of organs in China. The sanctions include the freezing of assets and admission to the United States.
The European Union passed a resolution on January 18, 2024, that openly condemned the CCP for persecuting Falun Gong and called for an immediate end to the persecution. The resolution calls for the EU and its Member States to “publicly condemn organ transplant abuses in China and to use the EU Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime and national human rights sanctions regimes against all perpetrators and entities that have contributed to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and abroad.” The resolution stresses that EU measures should include refusing visas, freezing assets, expulsion from EU territories, criminal prosecution, including on the basis of extraterritorial jurisdiction, and bringing international criminal charges. The resolution has been passed to EU organizations, its member states’ governments and parliaments, and the Chinese government.
A list of perpetrators who participated in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners was submitted to the governments of 44 countries on December 7, 2020, via the Magnitsky Act. These countries include the Five Eyes (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand), all 27 nations in the European Union, and 12 additional nations (Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Israel, Mexico, Argentina, Columbia, Chile and Dominica).
This list includes 118,000 perpetrators as of May 2024. The Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act allows for the denial of visas to countries and the freezing of assets transferred by people who have committed human rights violations or have been accused of corruption. The act applies to the whole world, especially CCP members who committed these crimes. As of December 7, 2020, 27 nations in the European Union passed this act which is used to sanction human rights violators.
2. Withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. All those who committed crimes against practitioners will be held accountable.
Persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners has no legal basis. Everything done under the excuse of “cracking down” on Falun Dafa is illegal. Even though the majority of the perpetrators say they were coerced or forced to commit the crimes, it doesn’t mean they won’t be held accountable for their actions. People who don’t withdraw from the CCP could also face retribution for being a part of it. They will all be held accountable regardless of whether they voluntarily participated in the crimes, or condoned or tolerated the crimes, in the past or present.
It is very easy to withdraw from the CCP online. So far, over 434 million people have declared their wish to withdraw from it. The Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP has issued them certificates for quitting it.
No person who persecutes practitioners can go unpunished. The CCP’s crimes against practitioners will be further exposed to the world, and will very likely accelerate the collapse of the CCP. As the saying goes: Good is rewarded with good, and evil is punished with evil—regardless of how high your rank is, how many good relationships you have, how far away you live from China, or how much money you have.
3. Return to Humanity, Tradition, and China’s Ancient and Upright Moral Values
Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are universal values. They not only exist in China, they are also valued in Western culture and tradition. Every person who follows these values will have a happy and fulfilling life. When a nation’s people follow Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, the better the country will become.
Falun Dafa helps people believe in the divine again. Only by restoring morality and ending these evil atrocities can the Chinese government officials and Chinese people head towards a bright future.
