(Minghui.org) Renowned American talk show host Rick Jensen invited three Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa) practitioners to participate in an 18-minute special program on Delaware’s WDEL radio station on July 19, 2024. This was the day before the 25th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) onset of the persecution of Falun Gong. The program exposed the persecution and the CCP’s crime of harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners, calling for an end to this 25-year-long brutal persecution.
Rick Jensen is the winner of the Philadelphia Region Society of Professional Journalists award for Best Talk Show, Delaware Today Magazine Readers’ Poll for Best Talk Show, and winner of Best Commentary/Editorial by the Associated Press and the Philadelphia Region Society of Professional Journalists. He is also ranked as one of the “100 Most Influential Talk Show Hosts in America.”

At the beginning of the program, Mr. Jensen shared an experience that led him to realize the CCP’s destructive nature. He said, “Back in 1999 and 2000, I had heard from friends and others I had met at Fort Bragg. I am not a military, I did not serve in the army, and I did not serve in Fort Bragg, I had friends there because I lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina for a while. And I was very fortunate to meet men and women who served in the military, 82nd Airborne, and special offices. These are just regular folks who perform duties that were extraordinary. They told me about something that was happening in communist China that I found hard to believe. And that is that the communist Party had decided that only communism would be the accepted religion in China. I said, ‘That’s not a religion.’ They said, ‘No, no, no, you don’t understand. With the leaders in communist China, they believe that communism is not just a political option; it’s a required way of life.’”
Rick Jensen stated that he knows the CCP has persecuted many peaceful religious believers and Falun Gong practitioners. He is now doing everything he can to make people aware of the CCP’s evil nature, especially its crime of harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners.
Mr. Jensen said, “I have made this public in my own little way as much as possible and as much as I can. I have been a moderator on panels here in Delaware regarding this organ harvesting, where the Chinese Communist Party makes billions of dollars by inviting people from other countries to go to China and get that liver transplant, kidney transplant, whatever they need. And if the first living human being as a donor does not have matching vital organs like liver, kidney, lungs, then they will simply wheel somebody they’ve captured and imprisoned in the hospital.”
The three invited Falun Gong practitioners were Huang Kui (William), who was illegally imprisoned in China for five years for practicing Falun Gong, Alex Luchansky, and Cindy Liu.
Alex first introduced the 25 years of persecution that Falun Gong practitioners have endured in China. He said, “The scale of this persecution is huge. According to the latest estimates, hundreds of thousands of people died from the forced organ harvesting and other terrible ways of torture and persecution against Falun Gong done by the Chinese Communist Party.” He continued, “On July 20, 1999, thousands of people were suddenly arrested overnight and put into the black jails, concentration camps, and other ways to start persecuting them, including forced organ harvesting.”
Next, William Huang shared his terrifying experience of being imprisoned in China for five years due to practicing Falun Gong, which included being forced into a labor camp and subjected to brainwashing.
William said, “I was a Tsinghua University student when I started to practice Falun Gong in 1998 back in China. Tsinghua University is the top engineering institute in China. People also called it China MIT. But just because of my belief in Falun Gong, after July 20, 1999, my life was totally upside down. I was in jail for a total of five years because of my belief in Falun Gong.
“I can give you some stories or experiences I had in jail. First, we were forced to do hard labor every day. It was a horror experience. We were forced to do slave labor for at least 16 hours a day. Over 20 inmates were squeezed in a small cell about maybe 300 square feet, eating, sleeping, using the toilet, and doing slave labor, all within that small cell. We were forced to make all kinds of handmade stuff, like plastic flowers for decoration, like Christmas tree lights, Spider-Man toys—you name it, a lot of stuff.
“We were also forced to process a type of food—pistachios nuts. We were forced to use big iron pliers to open the hard shells of the pistachios. Our sweat, tears, blood, and pus from our blisters all soaked into the nuts. The guards told us the products we made would be exported to Western countries, including the U.S.A. When I just came to this country in 2008, I saw that the exact products that we made in the labor camp were sold here in grocery stores. You can imagine I was really shocked at that moment!
“Another kind of thing was brainwashing. They tried to brainwash me. They tried to force me to watch the videos demonizing Falun Gong or read books that defamed Falun Gong. When I refused, they deprived sleep totally from me, like lasting for a whole month.”
William pointed out that the persecution of Falun Gong is not far from any of us because products made through forced labor are sold here. So when people go to grocery stores, they might be buying products made by forced labor.
Rick Jensen suggested that people try to reduce their purchases of products made in China. He said, “Many many years ago, I decided that I would avoid buying anything made in China for a lot of these reasons, because so much of the products, even toys, as you said are made by slave labor. And even my coffee go cup, I only buy from Wawa because it is made in Pennsylvania. I think that’s the important thing, if we can minimize the purchases from China.”
Mr. Jensen thanked William for sharing his personal experiences with the audience. He said, “Your story, tragically, is one of the millions. You were able to escape and came to this country. I’m truly glad for you and your family.
Rick Jensen then asked Cindy Liu, “Tomorrow being the tragic anniversary of this persecution. What do you have in mind for bringing awareness of this?”
Cindy Liu responded, “Tomorrow is the 25th year since the persecution started. It is very painful in my heart because each year we go to D.C., since 1999. She said back then, they were newly married couples and, then a young mom and dad. Now their children have become young adults and they are still going to D.C. calling for an end to this persecution.” She said, “It’s very sad.”
Cindy Liu also shared some good news with the audience. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Falun Gong Protection Act on June 25, 2024. This legislation imposes sanctions on those who participate in or assist with the CCP’s organ harvesting undertaking, including freezing assets, banning entry into the United States, denying visas, automatically revoking existing visas, and other economic and criminal penalties.
Mr. Jensen mentioned that in June of this year, the Delaware House of Representatives passed a resolution (HCR143) condemning China’s organ harvesting. However, he criticized the Senate for rejecting the resolution.
“Here in Delaware, Mike Ramone, the House Minority Leader of Republican sponsored a bill that would condemn forced organ harvesting in China, and it has bipartisan support from the Democrats as well. Unfortunately, it did not make it through the Senate to be signed by the governor,” Rick Jensen said. “I think that’s just absolutely horrid and brutal because the goal of such a bill was to prevent Delaware companies and Delaware services from being provided to China, as long as those services and products were to be used in organ transplants.”
Cindy Liu said that organ harvesting is a crime against humanity and that the resolution was intended to protect the people of Delaware from unknowingly becoming involved in this crime. She suggested that people call their legislators, inform them of the truth about organ harvesting, and ensure that our medical community is not involved in this contaminated supply chain.
Finally, Rick Jensen suggested that listeners visit the Falun Gong website Faluninfo.net for more information, especially on the 25th anniversary, to learn about what happened on that horrific day, July 20, 25 years ago, in China.
William suggested that everyone reflect on why the CCP persecutes Falun Gong. He said that Falun Gong is a peaceful practice, but millions are persecuted, and tens of thousands are even subjected to organ harvesting. He said it was due to the evil nature of the CCP. The evil CCP wants to control everything, including people’s minds, and cannot tolerate that a group of practitioners like Falun Gong practitioners exist. William said people need to distinguish that the CCP is not China or the Chinese people.
Alex Luchansky suggested that people contact U.S. Senators to support the Falun Gong Protection Act, and work to get it passed in the Senate as soon as possible.
The WDEL.com website states: “A survivor of Chinese Communist Genocide is among 3 Falun Gong who talk with Rick about the horrible anniversary of the start of Chinese organ harvesting. The Chinese Communist Party continues to imprison innocent people to make billions of dollars by killing them and selling their valuable organs such as kidneys, livers, and lungs.”
