(Minghui.org) In their experience sharing articles many practitioners write, “Everything is done by Master.” In my understanding, Master is the one who is truly saving people when practitioners clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution, and we are just moving our lips. I recently noticed that local practitioners started to use this sentence and added one more sentence, “This is not done by me. It’s all done by Master.” This is usually said by practitioners who diligently do the three things and has gradually become a trend.
For example, a practitioner went to the police station to deliver truth-clarifying materials, and afterward said, “This was not done by me. This was done by Master.” Some practitioners who help out with technical matters and were able to repair equipment say, “This (machine) was not repaired by me, it was done by Master.” When practitioners produce and distribute calendars, they also say that everything was done by Master.
If these practitioners negate the things they’ve done and say that whatever they do is done by Master, won’t that place more pressure on Master? I always felt that there was something wrong with saying this, and I mentioned it to other practitioners.
When we discussed this, some practitioners thought it wasn’t a big deal. After I read the article “Our Master” I felt a greater need to defend Master and Dafa. If we think about it, this isn’t a small issue. If many practitioners speak so casually, then couldn’t it be said that all those tasks that we haven’t done well in our cultivation, the tribulations that we did not pass well, and all the losses that we caused were not done by us but instead were done by the old forces?
Wouldn’t it be more logical if we changed the sentence “This is not done by me” to “This is what I should do.”
Of course, the wisdom and ability we have to clarify the truth comes from Master and the Fa. There is no doubt that the one who is truly saving people is Master. Master and Dafa bestow cultivators with endless wisdom and the ability to resolve all the issues we face in cultivation and the interference we need to overcome when we do things to help Master save people.
Saving sentient beings is our responsibility as Falun Dafa practitioners. Every practitioner should do their best to do this because this is our mission and our prehistoric vow. Master has already done so much for us—we only have this little bit on the surface to deal with. If we push our responsibilities away and feel they are to be done by Master, then what will be left for us practitioners to do?
After reading the article “Our Master,” I felt Master’s benevolence. I was moved to tears as I finished reading it. I realized that I must do more and relieve Master of this burden.
The things that Master left for us to do at this surface level in the process of saving sentient beings are helping to refine us. Through them, Master is giving us opportunities to cultivate ourselves and raise our levels. My understanding is that clarifying the truth is to be done by practitioners, so we shouldn’t say that Master is doing it. It’s also not something that we do for Master. We should take note of this so we aren’t unintentionally being disrespectful to Master. Perhaps saying things are done by Master may be due to different understandings of the Fa, but I suggest that practitioners be cautious when we speak.
Let’s reflect on what Master said in two of his lectures:
“Question: Master, [in our paintings and drawings] we convey ideas or portray something realistically. Is it true that when we paint or draw, your Law Body goes on the piece? (People laugh)
Teacher: No, my Law Body won’t do that. (People laugh) He just needs to think and you’ll know how to paint. But if you figure, “Now I see. Then I’ll have Master paint it,” (people laugh) you can’t do that.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Discussion on Writing Music and Creating Fine Art,” Teaching the Fa at the Discussion on Creating Fine Art)
and
“The whole process of transforming gong is very complicated and occurs in other dimensions. The body does not only change in just another one dimension, but in all different dimensions. Can you do that by yourself? You cannot. These things are arranged by the master and performed by the master. Therefore, it is said that cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while transforming gong is done by one’s master. You can only have such a wish and think about it like that, but it is the master who actually does these things.” (The Second Lecture, Zhuan Falun)
As his disciples, our hearts should be on the same side as Master’s.
