A 58-year-old resident of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, died on October 22, 2021, after suffering years of persecution for her faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Wang Yujie was arrested numerous times after the persecution began in 1999. Following an arrest at the end of 2003, she was beaten by the police so savagely that she lost consciousness. After she came to, she was confused and unable to take care of herself. Despite her condition, the police gave her three years of forced labor.
The guards at the Hohhot Women’s Labor Camp beat Ms. Wang on the head with rubber clubs, causing her to suffer severe injuries and develop a mental disorder. Guard Chang Hong often forced her to take hypertension medication. Her face blushed and she felt extreme pain after taking the pills each time. Her blood pressure not only did not go down but shot up to 200 mmHg (when a normal range is 120 or lower).
Besides torture, Ms. Wang was also forced to do hard labor. A drug addict named Qiao Xia was instructed to watch her. While Ms. Wang was not looking one day, Qiao suddenly stuffed some unknown pills into her mouth. Another time Qiao also laced Ms. Wang’s food with unknown drugs.
Ms. Wang still lived in fear after she was released. She never recovered from the health damage sustained in the labor camp. She had a stroke in 2014 and could no longer talk or recognize people. She died on October 22, 2021.
