(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Deping Sentenced
2. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Guiqin and Ms. Gao Jing Made Their Second Court Appearance
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Chen Hong Faces Indictment
4. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Hou Jing detained
5. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Xiuhuan Detained
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Xuemin Arrested
7. [Tianzhen County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Duan Xiuyun and Mr. Duan Peng Harassed
1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Deping Sentenced
Mr. Wang Deping, from Wujia Town, Shuangcheng District, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
2. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Guiqin and Ms. Gao Jing Made Their Second Court Appearance
Ms. Fu Guiqin and Ms. Gao Jing had their second hearing in Yilan County Court on January 16, 2025.
Their first hearing was held on the afternoon of December 17, 2024. Ms. Fu, who was in a mentally confused state, fainted during the hearing, and was rushed to a hospital for resuscitation. Her family suspected that she had been abused in custody, as the once perfectly healthy woman had been hospitalized twice since her arrest on February 8, 2024.
Ms. Gao was handcuffed and shackled during the first hearing. Her hair had turned completely gray, she had missing teeth, and she looked much thinner.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Chen Hong Faces Indictment
Chen Hong, gender unknown, was arrested by officers from the Nanling Street Police Station on November 30, 2024. Chen’s home was ransacked. Chen was first held in the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days, then transferred to the Changchun City Detention Center. The police station officers have submitted Chen’s case to the procuratorate.
4. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Hou Jing detained
Ms. Hou Jing, 35, works in Gaoxin District. She was arrested at a subway entrance on her way to work by Chang’an Police Department officers on January 8, 2025. The police ransacked her home in the afternoon and seized her personal belongings. She is being held in the Sanyao Village Detention Center. It was said that she was recorded by a security camera while she was distributed Falun Gong flyers in a neighborhood.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Xiuhuan Detained
Ms. Zhao Xiuhuan was arrested on December 9, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was detained for 15 days by Haidian Police Department and has since been released.
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Xuemin Arrested
Mr. Zhao Xuemin was arrested on the afternoon of January 6, 2025, when he was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at a tourist site. He was taken to the Changshan Road Police Station. He asked the officers to show him the legal basis for the persecution, but they could not. An officer beat him. The officers finally released him after holding him at the police station for about 20 hours.
7. [Tianzhen County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Duan Xiuyun and Mr. Duan Peng Harassed
Ms. Duan Xiuyun, from Pingyuanbao, Xinping Town, was harassed at home in 2023 by officers from the Tianzhen County Domestic Security Division and Wang Zhigang, chief of the Xinping Town Police Station. They did not show their IDs and forcibly took away the Falun Gong book which her mother was reading.
Another practitioner, Mr. Duan Peng, from Pingyuanbao Village, had his home ransacked in October 2023. All of his Falun Gong books were confiscated. The police held him at the Hunyuan County Brainwashing Center and released him three days later.
