(Continued from Part 1)
As discussed earlier, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been waging an all-encompassing war to undermine morality and universal values while challenging international norms. If it continues on this path, it will destroy mankind’s conscience.
What drives the CCP to carry out this war? The beginning of the Communist Manifesto says, “A spectre is haunting Europe—the spectre of communism.” The CCP’s nature has been thoroughly analyzed in the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, published in 2004. Since the Party was founded a century ago, it has suppressed people with brutality, killing, and deception. Because of its nature, the CCP resorts to unrestricted warfare. Because of its nature, the Western world has been unable to defeat the CCP with military power, democratic pressure, and economic measures.
Communist Ideology: Nationwide Brainwashing and Global Expansion
For decades, the CCP has thoroughly brainwashed the Chinese people with its Party culture and “struggle” ideology. It was under this mindset that the concept of “unrestricted warfare” could be embraced and adopted by both soldiers and civilians. Once brainwashed, civilians base their perceptions only on Party culture, and they become communist agents that can be used at will.
The CCP has essentially developed “brain control” weaponry in the national cognitive space, a product of the nationwide brainwashing, combined with unrestricted warfare.
In the past, the CCP was able to achieve “thought reform” of intellectuals through endless criticism sessions in political campaigns. After being subjected to these brutalities over and over, the recipients had no choice but to give up their own thoughts and yield to the Party. Today, the CCP systematically feeds distorted information to people, to mold their view of themselves and the world, especially as children and teenagers. As a result, their thought process begins to conform to the CCP’s ideology before they realize it.
For example, when Taiwan is brought up, many Chinese people immediately say, “we must liberate Taiwan.” Speaking of the Dalai Lama, they blurt out, “he is dividing our motherland.” When discussing issues online, many Chinese people–even the highly educated–simply repeat the CCP’s propaganda and swear at their opponents without thinking or engaging in real discussion. Once the CCP establishes its thought control, it is hard for Chinese students to think independently, even after they arrive in Western countries to study.
The CCP has now begun to export its brainwashing tactics worldwide. Taking advantage of the freedom of speech and academic freedom in Western countries, it spreads its ideology through Confucius Institutes and influences major news outlets through local agents. The CCP has also funded Chinese media outlets in over 60 countries to spread its “big foreign propaganda” by “telling the Chinese story well.”
With the Committee of 100, Thousand Talents Plan, and other initiatives, the CCP has infiltrated European and American universities and cultural institutions to collect intelligence and fund think tanks to conduct research that conforms to pro-CCP discourse. Research into modern psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, and other disciplines then enables the CCP to develop and implement a form of brain control to influence Western politics. In this way, it can subtly and gradually influence people’s thinking and perception. In the end, it could lead society to abandon traditional values.
Many people in China and abroad have wondered why the CCP cannot tolerate Falun Gong. After all, why would a regime that has complete control over the state apparatus exhaust so many resources to target Falun Gong? The reason is that the CCP’s values run counter to Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. These principles are consistent with traditional values, and practitioners focus on improving themselves and becoming better citizens who cherish virtue.
Falun Gong practitioners have also helped people to regain their independent thinking. After the Nine Commentaries was published in 2004, many Chinese people gained a better understanding of how the CCP has systematically suppressed and controlled people. Over 440 million of them have decided to renounce their current and past memberships in the CCP organizations, including the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers.
People Around the World are Awakening
Because of its nature, the CCP will not change. As more people started to see the communist regime for what it is, the CCP’s fear and hatred of Falun Gong grew. It recently launched a new wave of transnational repression, which aims to use partisan conflict in America to stop government officials from supporting Falun Gong, and ultimately destroy Falun Gong.
In 25 years of brutal persecution by the CCP, millions of Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested, imprisoned, and even killed through torture or forced organ harvesting. Nevertheless, Falun Gong practitioners have remained peaceful.
According to leaked information, during this new wave of transnational repression, the CCP may create more incidents to frame Falun Gong. Back in 2001, the regime staged the self-immolation at Tiananmen Square to defame Falun Gong, and a large body of evidence has shown this was a hoax.
We hope more people will learn about the CCP’s information warfare tactics and avoid becoming its pawns, as a major American news outlet did by publishing reports attacking Shen Yun and Falun Gong in violation of the cornerstones of journalism ethics–“truth,” “accuracy,” and “objectivity.” By helping to cover up the CCP’s human rights atrocities and destruction of traditional values, these media organizations are helping the regime to achieve what it cannot do on its own.
We believe that the righteous will ultimately prevail. At this critical time, however, each person faces important choices between safeguarding our conscience and bowing to the CCP. We hope more people will wake up and make the right choice, for their own sake.
