Ms. Fan Yueqin, of Xishui County, Hubei Province, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in March 2002 and was arrested. The Guankou Police Station picked her up and took her back to Hubei. She was held at the Xishui County First Detention Center for an unknown amount of time.
She made a second trip to Beijing in early 2003 and was intercepted on her way there. She was brutally tortured at a detention center and also forced to pay 5,000 yuan. When she was released, she was just skin and bones. She also appeared dazed and confused. She died in early August 2003.
