(Minghui.org) I am a 72-year-old farmer living in a country village. I went to school for only two years. When I started practicing Falun Dafa in November 1998, I could not recognize all the characters in the book Zhuan Falun. Now, I can not only recognize the words, but I am able to copy the entire book.
Once I became a practitioner, I conducted myself in accordance with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. During my many years of practice, I have benefited greatly from Dafa, and I’d like to share my stories.
Master Helped Me Out of a Debt Dilemma
My husband died in 2006. He left me with a debt of 40,000 yuan, which was a large amount in our village. More than ten creditors came to my house for money after his funeral. Some creditors even came earlier to demand payment when my husband was seriously ill and yet to die.
I have three sons, and only the oldest one was married at the time. The creditors asked my oldest son to pay the debts. My son himself was also in debt and my daughter-in-law threatened to divorce my son if he assumed the debts.
As a practitioner, I was considerate of other people. I told the creditors that I would repay them if they gave me some time. But I was very poor and unable to pay back any money at that time. No one was willing to lend me any money, so it became necessary to earn the money on my own by farming my 15 acres of land.
Ever since deciding to pay off the debt, I harvested well whatever I planted. People in the village praised me. One year, the rice, beans, and corn that I planted were damaged by a hail storm. I was worried. My wish was that the rice plants on the mountain land would be full of rich grain in half a month. Two weeks later the scene in the rice field looked exactly as I had wished. Also, when it was time to harvest, the soybeans were as big as chicken eyes and the corn cobs were more than a foot long.
I also grew peanuts. The seeds were planted quite shallow so the sprouts would pop up sooner. At the same time, the worry was that the peanut seeds might get dried up by the sun before they took root. I had no manpower to water the seeds. So I thought that it would be great if it was cloudy for four or five days consecutively. Amazingly, along came four or five cloudy days in a row, and the seedlings emerged robustly.
My corn plants grew well while the corn plants in the adjacent lands were dead. Many farmers came to ask me about the corn seeds I used. I told them that I only performed the labor, it was Master Li that bestowed the blessings.
That year, I sold peanuts and corn for a total of about 30,000 yuan. I kept 5,000 yuan to buy seeds and fertilizer for next year, and used the proceeds to pay off the debt. The creditors were happy as they did not expect that their debts would be paid off.
Two Younger Sons Marry
My youngest son was almost 30 years old before I paid off the debts. Due to his age, my cultivation practice being persecuted, and my family’s poor financial conditions, he became less desirable and no one wanted to help find a wife for him.
I was worried and asked Master for help. Ten days later, someone came and introduced a woman for my son. She was five years younger. My son was excited and told me to accept anything the woman asked. But it turned out to be a house!
I had not paid off all the debt yet and was not able to come up with money for a house. I only borrowed 50,000 yuan as a gift to the bride. The woman still agreed to marry my son. I later helped them with 30,000 yuan when the couple bought their own house. All my relatives praised me, saying that my son could not be better off even if his father were still alive.
Soon, my second son also married and accrued some debt. Although my son wanted to pay the debt off himself, I gave him some money each year until it was paid off. Others wondered how I was able to pay off all these debts. I knew that I was not brilliant in business matters. It was all because I cultivated Falun Dafa and Master helped me!
Getting a Dream Job
I started to look for employment as a caregiver after paying off everything owed to others. My dream job would be taking care of an elderly lady who could study the Fa and practice the Falun Dafa exercises with me. It would be wonderful to have a job as I continue in cultivation practice. My wish came true a few days later. A fellow practitioner had difficulties in life and was in need of a caregiver.
