(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Nine Practitioners Face Indictment

4. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Case about Ms. Qiu Liying’s Suspended Pension Accepted by the Provincial High Court
5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested or Harassed
6. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Shaoli Arrested
7. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Deng Yanhui Arrested
1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Nine Practitioners Face Indictment
Nine practitioners who were arrested on June 6, 2024 still face indictment after the Xishan District Procuratorate returned their case to the Xisan District Police Department on January 10, 2025, for additional evidence.
The nine practitioners are: Ms. Liu Cuixian, Ms. Liu Xiaoping, Ms. Ma Ling, Ms. Zheng Cuilan, Ms. Zhu Yongzhen, Ms. Li Huanzhen, Ms. Yang Huifang, Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen, and Mr. Bi Sheng. The eight female practitioners are held at the Kunming City Detention Center and Mr. Bi is detained at the Xishan District Detention Center.
2. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Fan Yongfeng Arrested and Detained
Fan Yongfeng was recently arrested at home by Guo Nan, chief of the Toudaohe Township Police Station, and several other officers. Fan is currently held in the Jinzhou City Lockup.
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Guifang and Ms. Gao Hualan Arrested
Ms. Zhang Guifang and Ms. Gao Hualan were arrested by officers in Fengnan District on January 13, 2025. Four officers from Fengnan District and one officer from the Wenbei Police Station ransacked Ms. Zhang’s home in the afternoon. Her Falun Gong books and calendar bearing information about Falun Gong were confiscated.
Ms. Zhang was released in the afternoon. Ms. Gao was given ten days at the Fengnan District Lockup.
4. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Case about Ms. Qiu Liying’s Suspended Pension Accepted by the Provincial High Court
Ms. Qiu Liying’s pension has been unlawfully suspended by the Shijiazhuang City Social Insurance Center since December 2021, due to her previous prison sentence for practicing Falun Gong. She filed a lawsuit with the Chang’an District Court in August 2022, but lost the case in September 2023. She appealed with the Shijiazhuang City Intermediate Court, which again ruled against her. She continued to appeal with the Hebei Province High Court on September 27, 2024, which accepted her case on January 2, 2025.
5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested or Harassed
Six practitioners were arrested between December 2 and 31, 2024. Among them, Ms. Yan Shijun was arrested at home on December 2, 2024 and detained for four days; Mr. Jiao Shoutong was arrested around December 10, 2024 and detained for seven days; Mr. Du Changjiang was arrested and taken to a detention center on the morning of December 19, 2024; Mr. Lyu Xianfeng was arrested and taken to a detention center on December 28, 2024; Mr. Yang Fujun was arrested on December 29, 2024 and taken to a detention center; and Mr. Fan Yunping was arrested and taken to a detention center on December 31, 2024.
In addition, Mr. Wang Mingjiu, was harassed on December 12, 2024. The police questioned him as to whether he still practiced Falun Gong. They confiscated a Falun Gong book but he later got it back. The police attempted to harass Ms. Zhang Junyan that same day, but she wasn’t home when they came to her home. Another practitioner, Ms. Zhou Qiling, was harassed at home on December 24, 2024. The police took photos of her without her consent.
6. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Shaoli Arrested
Ms. Xu Shaoli, 58, was arrested at home on the afternoon of December 19, 2024.
7. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Deng Yanhui Arrested
Deng Yanhui from Changfa Town was arrested by officers from the Changtu County Domestic Security Division on January 11, 2025.
