(Minghui.org) A womann in Zhoukou City, Henan Province, was recently admitted to the Henan Province Women’s Prison to serve a three-year term for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. He Zhen, 57, used to work for a steel company. Her leukemia soon disappeared after she took up Falun Gong. Just when she did is not known.
Ms. He was arrested at home around November 15, 2023. Her place was ransacked. According to an insider, the police had attempted to arrest her at her other residence some time earlier, but she wasn’t home.
Ms. He was detained at the Zhoukou City Detention Center and later sentenced to three years by the Chuanhui District Court. She appealed the verdict. The appeals court initially threatened to extend her prison sentence, but later ruled to uphold her original verdict. Other details about her sentence and prison transfer aren’t clear.
Ms. He was previously arrested on July 14, 2011, while visiting a friend. She was detained for 37 days.
