(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1998, and I’m now retired. I’ve managed to come this far because I’m protected by benevolent Master.
Getting to Know People With Predestined Relationships
I worked in sales for a medical device company. I took advantage of my frequent business trips to visit or meet with old classmates, colleagues, former bosses, acquaintances, and relatives. After we greeted each other I clarified the facts about the persecution to them, and offered to help them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. I met with everyone I could get in touch with.
Each one had a different reaction when I mentioned Dafa. Some were delighted and truly felt I was bringing them blessings. Some were afraid and thought I was brave to say these words—if other people were there they didn’t dare to agree to quit the CCP, but afterwards, they secretly told me they wanted to quit. Some were very grateful, as if they had been waiting for this day; they not only agreed to quit immediately, but also asked me to help their family members quit. I told them the people themselves had to agree to quit.
As the company’s business expanded, so did the areas my boss assigned me to cover. When I was on a business trip, whether I was on a long-distance bus, train, or plane, I would try to initiate talks with people around me to bring up Dafa and help them quit the CCP. If the trip was long, I also tried to keep the conversations a bit longer.
I often read other practitioners’ cultivation articles on Minghui.org and read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Because I traveled a lot on business, I enjoyed seeing the folk customs and culture of different places. This offered me many topics to share with others, and it was easy to find a starting point. Some people said, “I usually never chat with people on the bus, but it was really pleasant to talk with you.” Then they happily quit the CCP.
I also repeatedly met people I felt I had a predestined relationship with. Once, after a woman heard the truth about Dafa, she wanted to study the Fa and learn the exercises. When parting, she said, “What am I going to do after you leave?” I gave her an MP3 player which had Master’s recorded lectures as a gift.
If I wasn’t successful in getting the truth across the first time, I’d find other opportunities to clarify the facts again from different angles. For instance, there was a director in a military hospital. She had received a copy of the Nine Commentaries. One time, we happened to be on a business trip together. As soon as I started talking, she immediately said that she’d read the book. She also said the history of the CCP described in the book was true. She not only quit the CCP, but also asked me to help her husband, son, and daughter-in-law to quit. She carefully selected their pseudonyms and wrote them down. Before she left, she repeatedly told me not to forget about this and she would ask her family to quit when she got home.
As for my clients and agents, no matter whether they were prestigious specialists or professors, or big business owners, as long as I had an opportunity, I tried to clarify the facts to them. It was hard for practitioners to contact celebrities, experts and scholars. It’s even harder for practitioners to talk with them in person so they can fully understand the truth. Most of these high profile people are CCP members, and have been deeply poisoned by the Party’s lies and propaganda, and its atheist Party culture, but they don’t realize it. Moreover, for the sake of saving face, self-esteem, and maintaining their own vested interests, authority, and positions, it can be difficult for them to calm their minds to seriously understand the truth.
I once met a very upright president of an institute. I talked to him about Falun Dafa a few times, but he never showed his stance. One time, he made a special trip to see me and asked for informational materials and Dafa books. He was staying in a hotel. When we met, he said that he’d turn off his cell phone. I gave him the “self-immolation hoax on Tiananmen Square” DVD and a copy of Master’s new lectures. Two days later he said, “Falun Dafa is great. However, I’m the president, and I can’t quit the Party now.” Although he didn’t quit, he still learned the truth after all.
Making Informational Materials
The CCP and former CCP leader Jiang Zemin launched the persecution against Dafa on July 20, 1999, and blanketed the country with slander. The overwhelming lies and propaganda have poisoned countless people’s minds. As practitioners, it’s our responsibility to help people understand the truth so they can be saved.
I realized that I should buy a computer. When I mentioned it to my husband, he immediately bought me the most expensive and best laptop available. I once met a former colleague, who turned out to be a practitioner. He gave me a CD that contained sharing articles from Minghui.org. After I read them, I was so inspired that I wanted to get a printer. My husband bought the best laser printer available.
Thanks to my work, I’ve built a wide network of contacts and access to a wealth of contact lists and information. Every month, there were academic conferences in various regions. There were also several major national exhibitions each year. I gathered lists of attendees, business cards from the exhibitor booths, and contact lists for regional academic conferences sent by agencies. Sometimes, even seemingly unrelated lists of people ended up in my work email. Other times, seemingly unintentionally, I’d get the phone directory of a particular institution, school, or system, and the resulting collection of information was substantial.
For those I have direct contact with, I clarify the facts to them face-to-face. Those I couldn’t reach directly, I used the contact lists and information that I obtained and I mailed them informational materials. I initially thought some organizations would have an issue receiving regular mail, so I couriered most of my materials through the post office. Later, I switched to regular mail for safety reasons, and the feedback was still very positive.
For example, even though my father knew deep down that the CCP was evil, no matter how hard I tried to clarify the truth to him, he wouldn’t listen—he thought I didn’t know as much as he did. So I mailed a truth-clarification letter to him, using regular mail, addressed to “so-and-so, dormitory compound of so-and-so unit.” It was a county-level city, and the letter would be received.
The next time I visited him, I noticed that his mindset had changed. I quietly opened his drawer and saw the letter that I mailed to him was opened. He even told me, “Visit so-and-so when you have time.”
He thought that it was a letter from an old friend—he never suspected it was from me, even though I addressed the envelope in my usual handwriting.
After that, every few months I used the same address to mail informational materials with different content each time. My father’s mindset completely changed, and I was able clarify the facts to him face-to-face. He began to swear at the Party and agreed to quit the CCP. He watched the video of the Nine Commentaries, and he often recited, “Falun Dafa is wonderful! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is wonderful!” Sometimes he’d sit on the bed in the full lotus position. One time, he fell and rolled down a hill. He immediately shouted, “Falun Dafa is wonderful!” and was not injured.
Two practitioners showed me how to use dedicated cell phones to send text messages and attach pictures to them. They gave me three cell phones to play truth-clarification calls through automatic dialing. I used the contact information I had, sorted the phone numbers, put them into a document, put them in the phone’s memory card, sent text messages with pictures embedded one by one, and dialed the phone numbers, followed by automatically playing the truth recordings once the calls got through.
I could also check the recipients’ feedback, then mail them letters tailored to their different situations for further truth-clarification. I also sorted out the filtered mobile phone numbers, landline numbers, and email addresses, and sent them to Minghui.org so overseas practitioners could follow up.
Sometimes I drove around the city with my phone, which I used to make truth-clarification calls, until the battery ran out.
When I was in town, I handed out informational materials in my area or nearby townships. I sometimes took my daughter. I’ve studied the Fa with her since she was in the fourth grade and she has helped me put up truth-clarification sticky notes.
I usually put the materials in ziplock bags, wrapped in colorful plastic, or in nice paper bags, and hang them on the door handles of homes or put them in the baskets of people’s bicycles. If there is a mailbox in the corridor, I’d put them in the mailbox first. During Chinese New Year, I use red envelopes with the character “good fortune” on them, and put the informational materials inside. When I hand them out, I always maintain the thought: “I hope people read this.”
