(Minghui.org) A bright moon rises over the sea, shared by all across the world. Falun Dafa practitioners in Toronto, Canada, gathered at Christie Pits Park on the morning of September 28, 2025, to extend their Mid-Autumn greetings to Master Li Hongzhi.
They expressed their gratitude for Master’s teachings of the Fa, which have purified and elevated their lives, and expressed their will to make progress together and assist Master in Fa-rectification.
Below are stories from three young Toronto practitioners sharing how they followed Master’s teachings to calmly navigate life’s challenges.

Focusing on Doing Business with Integrity
Qiqi wishes Master a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
Qiqi has practiced Falun Dafa with her family since childhood. However, the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of the practice shattered their peaceful life. Witnessing her mother and other family members being arrested and tortured by the CCP, Qiqi felt deeply saddened and depressed. Under the shadow of red terror, Qiqi lost her environment for spiritual practice.
Qiqi went to Canada to study abroad in 2013. In this country where religious freedom is upheld, she participated in the celebration of Falun Dafa Day in the Canadian capital. She said, “At the foot of Parliament Hill, seeing so many practitioners wearing clothes emblazoned with ‘Falun Dafa is Good’ practicing exercises on the lawn with serene expressions, and witnessing several members of parliament present to show their support—this scene deeply moved me. I yearned to return to cultivation.”
After resuming cultivation, Qiqi became a completely different person. She said, “I used to be a bit melancholy and frail. Since returning to my practice, I rarely feel unwell anymore, and my personality has become outgoing and cheerful.”
Qiqi is an outstanding graduate of Canada’s McGill University. She was studying engineering at the time, a challenging major, which led to intense academic pressure. But she persisted in clarifying the truth in addition to focusing on her studies. Qiqi still remembers the joy she felt when she helped a Chinese woman withdraw from the CCP and related organizations for the first time during her freshman year.
At the Falun Dafa booth, a Chinese employee from the next booth approached her, and Qiqi clarified the truth to her and helped her withdraw from the CCP. Looking back on her time at the university, she said, “I felt fulfilled and happy every day. I also deeply felt that cultivation had opened my wisdom. Despite being busy clarifying the truth, I achieved twice the result with half the effort in my studies, and ultimately graduated with excellent grades.”
After graduation, Qiqi and her husband started an advertising company. However, with the company, new challenges loomed. Qiqi had considered herself indifferent to financial gain, but starting a business made money a primary concern. Initially, she and her husband believed they were gifted in business, leading to a desire for quick success and instant gratification, hoping to become rich overnight.
The reality, however, was far from ideal. Sometimes large checks would arrive unexpectedly from clients, while at other times business would be dead quiet. In her frustration, Qiqi suddenly recalled something Master once said:
“Let me tell you about the mentality of those in other countries when it comes to doing business. Whether they run a big business or a small one, they treat it as part of their lives and do their very best at it, and take the long-term approach.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIII)
She realized that instead of letting her mood fluctuate with the ups and downs of the business, it was better to face things calmly and run the company steadily. “When the company’s cash flow fluctuates,” she said, “it still affects me, but compared to my initial overambitious mindset, I’ve become much more level-headed.”
As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, Qiqi would like to say to Master, “Wishing you a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival, Master. Thank you for all your hard work!”
Resolving Challenges with Kindness and Understanding
Xixi and her son wish Master a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
Thirty-one-year-old Xixi graduated from the University of Toronto’s School of Finance and works as a senior accountant at a major international company. In 1996, Xixi’s father passed by a Falun Dafa practice site and began cultivating. As a child, her father often held her in his arms while they studied the teachings together.
She came to Canada at age twelve with her mother, after her parents separated. Xixi studied Zhuan Falun on her own, as her mother didn’t fully understand the practice. After entering high school, Xixi went to the library every day after classes to read Zhuan Falun.
Through studying the Fa, her mindset returned to the peaceful state she had experienced as a child living with her father. She said, “Back then, I’d tense up and freeze whenever I saw someone. After practicing, I could genuinely care about people I once thought had nothing to do with me—and even greet and chat with strangers on the street.”
At work, a subordinate named Keke kept coming to her with questions almost daily, delaying Xixi’s own work tasks. As a result, she grew annoyed with Keke and even considered changing jobs.
Xixi later realized that the root cause was her jealousy of Keke, who always had others to help her solve problems and shoulder responsibility when she faced difficulties. At the same time, Xixi realized that she needed to understand why Keke was prone to emotional fluctuations, and that she should help her to build confidence and grow.
Xixi said, “Through studying the Dafa teachings, I realized that practitioners must care about others’ feelings and show concern for their pain and joy. With a sincere heart, you are able to open yourself up to others.”
Xixi invited Keke to lunch, where they shared stories about their respective families. She learned that Keke faced significant financial strain at home, leading to intense family conflicts. This made it difficult for Keke to concentrate, and caused feelings of helplessness when encountering difficulties. Consequently, Xixi expressed her concern and understanding, shared insights on navigating workplace relationships, and set aside dedicated time to specifically address Keke’s work challenges.
Xixi said, “After I changed my attitude toward her, she became like a different person. Her questions became more insightful, she could handle tricky problems on her own, and she even started helping me solve issues at work.”
On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Xixi expressed to Master, “Thank you for broadening my capacity, transforming me from a person consumed by self-doubt and selfishness into a cultivator capable of caring for and supporting others.”
Resolving Disputes with Forbearance
Shu Yan meditating. She believes that the happiest thing in cultivation is improving one’s character.
Shuyan, a thirty-year-old web developer, has also been a Falun Dafa practitioner for thirty years. Her mother recalls that when Shuyan was just a hundred days old, the entire family began practicing together.
Shuyan endured the heaviest blow of her life at the age of ten. Her parents were under police surveillance, followed, and repeatedly harassed; her beloved grandmother was forced into exile to escape persecution; and her sixty-year-old great-aunt was imprisoned. These experiences shattered Shuyan’s young heart.
Faced with the brutal persecution, the young Shu Yan began to ponder: What is cultivation? Why cultivate? What is Falun Dafa? Deep within her innocent heart, she formed a clear answer, “Cultivation is the purpose of life, enabling one to elevate their being and transcend worldly suffering. Falun Dafa is the method of cultivation.”
Shuyan and her mother distributed pamphlets, posted stickers, and hung banners after dark. At first, Shuyan felt uneasy, fearing persecution if the police discovered her. But when she resolved that this was a righteous act to help people understand the truth about Falun Dafa, her heart grew open and courageous. Each time they distributed all the informational materials, hung the banners on the streets, or encountered someone who understood the truth, Shuyan was filled with joy and gratitude. She cherished this unforgettable childhood experience.
After growing up, Shuyan came to Canada to study, and later entered the workforce. As a web developer, she frequently needed to communicate with clients. When dealing with difficult clients, her colleagues would break down under the pressure, feeling frustrated and irritable. They would endlessly revise proposals according to the clients’ demands, yet the clients remained unsatisfied. When asked why, they couldn’t explain.
Upon facing such a situation, Shuyan recalled Master’s teaching:
“Forbearance is the key to improving one’s xinxing. To endure with anger, grievance, or tears is the forbearance of an everyday person who is attached to his concerns. To endure completely without anger or grievance is the forbearance of a cultivator.” (“What is Forbearance (Ren)?” Essentials for Further Advancement)
Shuyan told herself not to just suppress her anger, but to truly let it go from within. She patiently communicated with the client, focusing on resolving the issue itself rather than letting her emotions take over. Her calm demeanor not only successfully mended fences with the client, but also earned her colleagues’ gratitude and admiration.
Shuyan said, “Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, Master! I am deeply grateful for the principles you have taught me, which have guided my growth over the past thirty years. Thank you, Master!”
