(Minghui.org) Recently I overheard an everyday person’s comments about some Falun Dafa practitioners blaming others instead of looking inward.
When we face difficulty overcoming xinxing tests, we often want to discuss and share with fellow practitioners. When sharing, the practitioner often points out the other party’s problems from an everyday person’s perspective instead of from the perspective of the Fa. This practitioner also searches for their own human attachments that don’t align with the Fa, while the practitioner who is listening often develops sympathy for this practitioner’s experience. Instead of fully standing on the Fa-based principles to help the practitioner pass the test, they join the practitioner in strengthening their human attachments and thoughts. This is quite common in my cultivation environment.
We all know that as practitioners, we must cultivate our speech. Behind this cultivation lies a practitioner’s true xinxing. When a fellow practitioner shares their experiences, we should, based on the Fa, remind them to unconditionally look inward and cultivate themselves. We should never judge right and wrong based on human thoughts and human rationality. In the Fa, we all know that everything a cultivator encounters is related to their cultivation. Both good and bad events are seen as good, and are Master’s painstaking arrangements. We should remind fellow practitioners to cherish these opportunities. These are gifts from Master for our cultivation advancement.
We should all view the situation from the perspective of a cultivator. In this way, we can help strengthen the righteous thoughts of practitioners who are going through tribulations. We can also improve our own xinxing in the process of helping other practitioners. This is how we follow the path arranged by Master Li.
Here is an example. A fellow practitioner was having trouble dealing with her daughter-in-law who was upset with her. After telling the story, the practitioner added, “I’m a cultivator. I need to get rid of my pride.”
The other practitioner responded, “Everyday people these days are all like this. Just cultivate yourself well.”
The practitioner then added a few more remarks about her daughter-in-law’s shortcomings, stating that she wouldn’t argue with her anymore.
From this conversation, it appears that the practitioner was looking inward. However, I think it would be much better if the practitioner who heard this could remind her to cultivate unconditionally, and not to mix in human rationales. From the Fa, we all know that the daughter-in-law was helping this practitioner elevate in cultivation and eliminate human attachments. What happens during the tribulation process should have a positive effect on both practitioners. However, if we use a human mentality in this process, we would be caught up in that without realizing it.
When facing this problem, we should know what to say and what not to say, and cultivate our speech. In fact, cultivating our speech is cultivating our xinxing.
This is my personal understanding. Please point out anything that is not in accordance with the Fa.
