I have practiced Falun Dafa practitioner for 28 years and am now in my 80s. Under the protection of our revered Master, I steadfastly walk the path of assisting Master in saving sentient beings. I’d like to share some of my cultivation experiences from the past two years to report to Master and share with fellow practitioners. If there are any shortcomings, I humbly ask for practitioners’ compassionate guidance.
Cherish the Time to Study the Fa
I’ve been living alone for 16 years now. While there have been challenges, it has also brought many conveniences. I have complete freedom over my time, which means I can fully dedicate myself to doing the three things. I’ve always valued this time, filling each day with tasks—busy, yet organized.
I haven’t watched television in years. I have no interest whatsoever in its content and dread wasting precious time on it. I have a basic phone that I only use for making calls and checking the weather forecast. I visit Minghui to read practitioners’ sharings and download Minghui radio broadcasts, so I can keep up with the progress of Fa-rectification.
I listen to Falun Dafa music and Minghui Radio while doing chores around the house. My meals are simple; I often steam enough buns and cook enough porridge for two days. Cooking is just heating the buns and porridge, which takes a few minutes. I also make dumpling soup or stir-fry vegetables—enough for several meals. I often cook eggs, since they are easy and quick to prepare. This lifestyle has become a habit; my goal is to have more time to study the Fa, because Master emphasizes the importance of Fa study in every lecture.
Master taught us:
“No matter how difficult your environment is, no matter how busy you get, you cannot forget to study the Fa. You must study the Fa, because it is the absolute, most fundamental guarantee of your improvement.” (Fa Teaching Given at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A., Collected Teachings Given Around the WorldVolume II)
I have diligently followed Master’s teachings, cultivating Dafa for 28 years without ever slacking off in Fa study. To this day, I remain steadfast, treasuring every moment as I cultivate intensely and systematically each day.
Under normal circumstances, I set a goal to study one lecture of Zhuan Falun each day. After that, I study one or two of Master’s other teachings. When Master publishes a new article, I intensively study and memorize it. My daily study time is approximately two to three hours. The remaining time is dedicated to clarifying the truth and validating the Fa.
For many years, I have consistently memorized the Fa. During the early stages of the persecution, I was forced to flee my home. It was during this period that I began memorizing Zhuan Falun, completing the first memorization within a year. Because I memorized the book thoroughly, it left a deep impression on me, and I gained much from it, laying a solid foundation for future cultivation and validating the Fa. After returning home, due to changes in my environment and the harsh circumstances, I did not begin memorizing Zhuan Falun again until 2017.
Since then, I have memorized and recited Zhuan Falun once every year, and this year marks my ninth round of memorization. Each year, I begin memorizing the Fa in the winter and continue until spring arrives, completing one full recitation over four to five months. During my memorization, whenever Master enlightens me to a layer of Fa principles and I grasp a deeper meaning, waves of emotion well up within me, and my tears flow uncontrollably.
I came across this while reciting the Fa:
“As a cultivator, your path of life will be changed from now on. My fashen will rearrange it for you. How will it be rearranged? How many years does a person still have in life? One will not know it oneself. Some people may be due for a serious illness after a year or half a year, and once they fall ill, it could be for several years. Some people may suffer a stroke or other illnesses and won’t be able to move at all. How will you be able to cultivate in the remaining course of your life? We must clean all of them out for you and prevent these things from occurring.” (Lecture Three, Zhuan Falun)
I was profoundly moved, deeply aware of how much Master has given to his disciples. My gratitude is beyond words, and I can only silently resolve: I will heed Master’s words, follow his teachings, persevere in cultivation to the end, return home with Master, and live up to his compassionate salvation.
Seize the Opportunities to Save People
For many years, I have kept Master’s teachings close to my heart, consistently sharing the truth face-to-face. I have not been afraid; with a compassionate heart and a rational approach, I have always achieved positive results. Below are a few stories of how I seized different opportunities to share the truth.
Meeting “Happiness” Again
One November day, a cold northwest wind blew hard. I had an appointment at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon. At ten in the morning, I went out to check the car and the weather. I approached the driver, agreed on a time, and asked him to pick me up at the gate at one o’clock. The driver agreed.
I asked him his name, and he chuckled and said, “Isn’t my name ‘Happiness’?” Looking closer, I realized he was the taxi driver I’d ridden with a few days before. I had told him the truth about Falun Dafa then, and he readily withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I gave him the pseudonym “Happiness,” which made him very happy.
That day, I’d said, “When we meet again, I’ll call you ‘Happiness.’” We both laughed back then. Today, I really did see him again. I didn’t recognize him, but he remembered me. I deeply felt the gratitude and joy towards Dafa of those who have been saved.
After entering the residential area, I saw a security guard standing in the strong wind. I chatted with him for a bit and said, “You work very hard!” Then I seized the opportunity to tell him the truth, starting with natural disasters, the rampant epidemic, and the deaths of so many people.
I told him, “Quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations can ensure your safety.” I encouraged him to remember “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and that by doing so, he would receive blessings. He believed the truth and said that he had been a member of the Young Pioneers and agreed to withdraw.
I gave him the pseudonym “Security Guard Li” and wished him peace and safety since he’d avoided the great disaster. He said, “Thank you, sister!” I said, “If you want to thank someone, thank Master Li! It was Master who sent us to save people.” He repeatedly said, “Thank you, Master Li!” I gave him a truth-clarification bag and a Falun Dafa amulet, which he happily accepted.
Telling the Truth to a “Taxi” Driver
One day, I needed to run an errand and initially planned to take the bus. When I arrived at the bus stop, a cleaner told me, “A bus just passed by, and the next one won’t come for another 20 minutes.” I realized that meant I wouldn’t make it in time.
Just then, a car drove up. I walked over, and it stopped, so I asked if it was a taxi. I asked how much it would cost to go to my destination. He replied, “Six yuan.” I got in. A regular taxi would usually cost between 10 and 15 yuan. After getting in, I started chatting with the driver. He said he had nothing to do at home and was bored, so he came out for a drive, hoping to earn a few yuan. I said, “I’ll give you ten yuan.” He said, “No need.” He seemed like a sincere person.
I began to talk to him, and said, “Natural and man-made disasters are rampant these days. Over 400 million people have died from COVID-19 in just three years, and it’s not over yet.”
“Yes, just look at the death toll in each village to see how many have perished,” he replied.
I said, “The CCP disrespects Heaven, rejects gods, and preaches atheism, bringing suffering upon all. Ancient people revered Heaven and the gods. The CCP wages war against Heaven and Earth.”
He added, “They even say it’s boundless joy.”
I told him the saying, “Follow the will of Heaven to avoid calamity; withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and ensure your safety.” He agreed to quit the CCP and its related organizations.
Gas Company Manager’s Righteous Choice
One day, I noticed that the burner on my stove wasn’t igniting properly. I thought: “I should ask Manager Yang from the gas company if there’s anyone in the neighborhood who repairs gas stoves.” I called him and explained the issue, and he asked, “Are you home right now?” When I said I was, he agreed to come over immediately to take a look.
Ever since I moved into this neighborhood, I’ve noticed that Yang has always been very concerned about the elderly living alone. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he even drove 20 miles out of his way to buy natural gas for me—I’m truly grateful to him. Whenever my heater had minor issues, he’d come over as soon as I called him. I thought he was a genuinely good person, and I’d planned several times to share the truth with him, but never found the time. I made up my mind to tell him the truth this time.
Yang arrived shortly afterwards and quickly fixed the gas stove. After thanking him, I said, “Manager Yang, I’ve been wanting to talk to you for a while, but you always seem so busy. Today I’d like to have a chat. Do you have a moment?” He agreed.
I began to tell him the truth: “Nowadays, natural disasters, illnesses, and man-made calamities occur frequently. Many people die suddenly, regardless of age. This is a change in the celestial phenomena—it is Heaven’s will. By aligning with Heaven’s will, we can evade calamity. Here’s a secret to safeguarding your well-being: Sincerely recite ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ Falun Dafa is Buddha’s teachings, and Buddha’s teachings save lives. If you genuinely believe in the goodness of these teachings, divine beings will protect you. Plagues will not dare to approach you, and you will turn misfortune into fortune, turning danger into safety.” He listened intently.
I continued, “You also need to withdraw from the CCP and related organizations. Are you a Party member?” He replied, “No, I’m not. The Communist Party is utterly rotten—it’s time for a change of regime. I went to our village committee and told them straight out: ‘None of you do any good—you eat, drink, gamble, and engage in corruption. Small officials are big thieves; big officials are colossal thieves.’ I spoke the plain truth. None of them dared do anything to me—they’re all afraid of me!”
Upon hearing this, I sensed he was a person of conviction. I continued, “The CCP has killed too many people in its successive campaigns, especially Falun Dafa practitioners who cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They’ve subjected them to every form of torture, even harvesting their organs while they are still alive.
“The CCP’s actions defy heaven and harm humanity. Heaven will destroy it. The plagues and disasters are the consequences of their persecution of the Buddha’s teachings. Only by distancing yourself from the CCP can you avoid disaster. Withdrawing from it will protect your safety and your life.”
He immediately agreed, so I gave him a pseudonym, and he withdrew from the Communist Youth League he’d once joined.
Clarifyingh the Truth at the Bus Station
One day, the weather forecast predicted rain turning to thunderstorms, yet I had to go out. Everything was smooth as I took the bus, completed my errand, and arrived back at the station to wait for the return bus. It hadn’t rained at all.
A few minutes later, a gentleman arrived. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was the same talkative man from my earlier bus ride. I asked him which bus he was taking and it turned out we were on the same bus again. He was a veteran who’d gone for a physical examination. He asked me, “How old are you?” When I told him I was 80, he was astonished: “So young looking!”
With only 10 to 20 minutes to wait for the bus, I couldn’t miss this chance and immediately told him the truth.
I said, “Meeting you is fate: I have something important to tell you. Natural and man-made disasters keep happening, the pandemic isn’t over, and people are still dying.” He listened attentively.
I continued, “These disasters were all brought upon us by the CCP. This party has launched campaigns one after another since they seized power, including persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners who cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Falun Dafa is a Buddhist practice that teaches people to be good. Persecuting Buddhist teachings invites divine retribution.
“Sincerely reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ will bring you blessings. Withdrawing from the CCP and its related organization can keep you away from disasters, protect your life, and ensure peace.”
He said, “My surname is Gao. I was once a member of that organization, and I agree to withdraw.” I gave him the pseudonym “Gao Guangming,” and wished him a bright future ahead. He was very pleased. Just then, the bus arrived. After boarding, I quickly retrieved the truth-clarification materials and protective amulet from my bag and discreetly handed them to him. He took them and tucked them into his pocket.
I am deeply grateful to Master for his compassion toward all beings, guiding those with karmic connections to cross my path, thereby granting them the opportunity to hear the truth, understand the truth, and be saved.
I am acutely aware that my efforts are still not enough, and that I still have many attachments and human notions to let go of. In the very final moments of the Fa-rectification, I will continue to seize every moment to study the Fa diligently, cultivate earnestly, save more people, take each step well, and follow Master home.
