(Minghui.org) Ten Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province residents stood trial on November 11, 2025 for their faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Judge Gang Jia from the Wanghua District Court in Fushun City, which oversees Qingyuan County, presided over the joint trial held at the Fushun City Detention Center.
Prosecutors Wang Jun and Wang Qichen accused the ten Falun Gong practitioners of “forming a criminal organization to install satellite dishes.” While Falun Gong practitioners across China did install satellite dishes to help the public receive uncensored information about the persecution from overseas media, the ten defendants did not engage in such an act. Even if they did, there was nothing illegal about it.
One of the family defenders pointed out that the police arrested the ten defendants because “ten” was a threshold to be considered a major case, and the police framed the practitioners in order to earn rewards and advance their career.
Both the practitioners and their defenders asked to see prosecution evidence in court. The two prosecutors then presented the Falun Gong books and informational materials confiscated from the practitioners’ homes. The variety and quantity, however, did not match what was stated in the police-produced list of confiscated items.
The two prosecutors claimed that one of the confiscated books, Zhuan Falun (main teaching of Falun Gong), was banned publication. The practitioners argued that China’s National Press and Publication Administration had long lifted the ban on Falun Gong publications in 2011. More importantly, no law in China criminalizes Falun Gong and it was the practitioners’ constitutional right to own Falun Gong books.
The prosecutors then said that the confiscated Falun Gong materials contained information smearing the communist regime, such as the live organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
The defenders said the live organ harvesting was a known fact and asked the court to verify it. It was unclear how the judge responded.
The hearing went from 9 a.m. to almost 11 p.m. Another hearing is yet to be announced.
