(Minghui.org) As Falun Dafa practitioners, we all understand the importance of Shen Yun Performing Arts. Audiences consider Shen Yun shows to be high-end formal performances in terms of artistic presentation and overall ratings. Our local practitioners recently shared their thoughts regarding a method some practitioners have used to promote the shows. I think it’s important to share these views with other practitioners as well.
One method observed being used to advertise Shen Yun shows consisted of tossing promotional pamphlets onto driveways of private homes in certain neighborhoods. Such an approach worked in earlier years when Shen Yun wasn’t as well known and the advertising channels were limited. However, with the rapid increase of advertising channels, people’s acceptance of this method has clearly declined. In reality, few people actually pick up the materials in the driveways and read them carefully; many simply discard them, especially after they become wet or dirty. Some people even find such “littering” offensive. This not only hinders people from learning about Shen Yun, it may also give them a negative impression of it.
This ineffective promotional method also wasted precious resources available to practitioners. Losses related to manpower, materials, and money occurred. Most concerning is that this method can reflect poorly on Shen Yun Performing Arts.
Hence, we hope that in the process of promoting Shen Yun, everyone should frequently share their thoughts and take timely actions to adjust outdated methods. This way we can better promote the show and preserve Shen Yun’s brand image.
We share the above thoughts with everyone in hopes of improving the quality of our promotions. Please point out anything inappropriate.
