(Minghui.org) In August 2020, the local police took me directly to a brainwashing center without going through any legal procedures. The police violently tortured me to extract a confession. I firmly believe in Master and Dafa and did not cooperate with their evil demands. The only thing I did was to validate the Fa and clarify the truth. I completely denied the arrangements of the old forces.
They then put me in a local detention center, where I was tortured. I was only given two egg-sized rice balls for each of the three meals a day. After more than 40 days in a row, I was so malnourished that I collapsed in bed and couldn’t get up. But, I still clarified the truth day after day, and did not cooperate with any instructions and orders from the evil.
The police later brought my case to court, I found an opportunity to tell the bailiffs in the detention center: There is no law in the National People’s Congress that designates Falun Gong as being illegal. The bailiff who didn’t know the truth slapped me in the face and said, “The Communist Party doesn’t talk about the law with you!” My face was swollen like a water balloon. The guards tortured me every day, but I still managed to do the exercises, insisted on clarifying the truth, and opposed the persecution.
One day, when I was doing the meditation, two detainees hit me hard in order to please the guards, punching me in the mouth. I started bleeding immediately. The guards were afraid of trouble, so they put the two people who beat me in handcuffs and shackles and had them drag iron rollers weighing dozens of pounds for a week. One of the thugs couldn’t stand it and blamed the guards, “You told us to do it!” Another thug said, “I admire you Falun Gong. You follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” A few days later, the guards talked to me and asked, “Is what you said true?” I said, “Dafa disciples speak the truth. If you read the internet, you will see that Falun Gong is spreading everywhere in the world.” The guard soon left this job of his own accord.
The court illegally tried me. Neither the public prosecutor nor the judge could produce appropriate legislative documents and factual basis from the National People’s Congress, but they applied Article 300 of the Criminal Law to impose the crime of undermining the implementation of the law without any grounds. I protested in court, citing Article 399 of the Criminal Law, and accused the court of abusing power and bending the law for personal gain. I was wrongfully sentenced to five years in prison.
I later appealed in writing, pointing out that (1) The National People’s Congress of China has never designated Falun Gong as anything. (2) In 2000, the General Office of the CCP Central Committee, the General Office of the State Council, and the Ministry of Public Security jointly promulgated Document No. 39 which stated that Falun Gong is not included in the 14 cults that are banned. (3) On March 1, 2011, the General Administration of Press and Publication of China issued Document No. 50 “Decision on the Repeal of the Fifth Batch of Normative Documents,” designating that the possession of Falun Gong books and materials is legal. (4) From 2013 to 2016, the law says that public security and legal case-handling personnel shall be held accountable for unjust, false, and wrongful cases for life, and the execution of illegal orders from superiors shall be investigated for life; The State Civil Service Law also makes clear provisions, which block the way for all those involved in the persecution of Falun Gong to be exonerated. (5) It is unfair for the court to impose the crime of undermining the implementation of the law on Falun Gong practitioners under Article 300 of the Criminal Law. This case cannot be established. Religious belief is the legitimate right of citizens. There is nothing wrong with practicing Falun Gong to be a good person. The international community has accepted cases accusing Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP, of crimes against humanity, torture, and genocide.
I was later sent to Hongzehu Prison. In front of the prison gate, a prison guard confiscated the court ruling to prevent me from appealing. I shouted, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, the world knows it. It is legal for me to practice Falun Gong!”
In the prison, I refused to participate in labor and sang Falun Dafa songs. I clarified the truth every day whenever I got a chance. Whenever there were any activities in the prison, I always shouted “Falun Dafa is good,” and told people to understand the truth and receive blessings.
One day one part of my face suddenly became swollen, and there was a large pustule at the base of my ear. The prison guards were frightened and carried me to the prison hospital. I told them that I didn’t need to go and that the swelling would disappear soon. A few days later, the prison doctor saw that the pustule was gone. He was surprised and asked the prisoner next to me if he had squeezed out the pus. The prisoner said no. The prison guards and prisoners witnessed all this. One guard said, “Dafa’s divine power protects you.”
I am lucky to have practiced Dafa for 26 years. I threw away all the medicine jars. A prison guard pointed at me in front of everybody and said, “Don’t touch him, this Falun Gong disciple is a god. If something is not scientifically recognized, it does not mean that it does not exist.”
In 2023, the Provincial Procuratorate conducted an annual inspection and evaluation of the prison. The prison guards were worried that the imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners would appeal to the inspectors. One day, several inspectors came directly toward me. I seized the opportunity to shout out the injustices: “The National People’s Congress of China does not enact laws; My practicing Falun Gong is legal and innocent. The court has wrongfully convicted me. I want to seek justice; Give me justice!” Before I finished speaking, one of the inspectors asked me what my name was. A prisoner beside me answered. When the inspection team left, they told the guards not to punish me. At a prison meeting, the prison guards commented that the violence and threats against Falun Gong were wrong. On the day the illegal imprisonment term ended, I walked out the prison gate with dignity.
In this troubled era of rapid moral decline, I was fortunate to encounter Falun Dafa, which has improved my physical and mental health and morality. I am grateful for Master’s salvation. Dafa disciples practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as the hope of future mankind. Understanding the truth and being kind to Dafa and Dafa disciples will bring immeasurable merit and boundless blessings. One is certain to have a bright future.
