(Minghui.org) A 52-year-old woman in Luoyang City, Henan Province is facing indictment for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

Ms. Han Jianying was arrested in early September 2025, and has since been held at a local detention center. Her case currently rests with the Jianxi District Procuratorate.

Prior to her latest persecution episode, Ms. Han was arrested another time in early August 2024. She was home when she heard knocks on the door. A man said he was a plumber hired by her downstairs neighbor to check if her apartment unit was leaking water into his ceiling. She opened the door, only to see four officers from the Jianxi District Police Department barge in. They flashed a purported search warrant without allowing her to read it. Her Falun Gong books, portrait of Falun Gong’s founder, computer, music player, and cell phone were all confiscated.

The police took Ms. Han to the police department for interrogation. She learned that they targeted her after two vendors reported her for using banknotes printed with Falun Gong messages to pay for her purchase. She was detained for 15 days before being released.

Returning to Falun Gong 11 Years After Persecution Began

Ms. Han used to be a physician at the Mudan Maternity Hospital in Luoyang and is currently practicing medicine at an unknown facility. She took up Falun Gong in early 1999 and soon improved her health. After the persecution began months later, she stopped the practice under pressure.

In the next 11 years, Ms. Han developed over ten diseases, including severe breast hyperplasia, heart disease, cervical spondylosis, intrahepatic bile duct stones, and rheumatism. She became so weak that she struggled to climb two flights of stairs. No medical treatments helped, and she also became irritable and often lashed out at her husband and child.

She returned to her hometown in 2010 to visit family. A local Falun Gong practitioner came to see her and suggested that she give Falun Gong another try. She asked him about the propaganda against Falun Gong that she saw on TV, and he played a few videos for her to watch.

One of the videos was titled False Fire and debunked the lies that the regime fabricated to frame Falun Gong in its 2001 self-immolation hoax in, which several “Falun Gong practitioners” allegedly “set themselves on fire” on Tiananmen Square. The video contained a slow-motion replay of the CCTV [China Central Television] footage that clearly showed that one of the “self-immolators” (who later died) was actually struck with a heavy object by a policeman in a military coat rather than burning to death as alleged.

Ms. Han had a light-bulb moment after watching the videos and realized that Falun Gong had been wronged all along. She began to do Falun Gong exercises the night of that practitioner’s visit. During the exercises, she felt a cool breeze enter her chest. From then on, she never felt chest tightness or pain again. The numbness in her left arm and hand also disappeared, her memory improved, and her neck pain subsided.

About half a month later, Ms. Han’s other symptoms were also gone. One of her colleagues asked one day why he hasn’t seen her do an electrocardiogram lately. She replied that she no longer needed routine EKG's to monitor her heart condition, as she had healed completely.
