(Minghui.org) The Minghui Editorial Board hosts an online Fahui conference every year and invites Falun Dafa practitioners in China to submit their cultivation experiences. This year, from November to December, 90 articles were selected for publication and were translated from the original Chinese into 24 different languages so Falun Dafa practitioners around the world could read them.
The Portuguese translations were greatly welcomed by Brazilian practitioners, who say they cherish these articles and have received many lessons from them. For three Brazilian practitioners, these shared articles clarified important cultivation concepts and gave them a deeper understanding of the fact that, although each nation’s cultivation environment is not the same, the attachments and the challenges practitioners face are similar.
Cultivating a Moral Standard Higher Than Ordinary People
Cristina said she feels the China conference articles are valuable—she learns a lot by reading how practitioners in China continue cultivating despite the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) oppressive persecution. “Due to the severe persecution they face, carrying out their missions requires a level of character and values far superior to that of ordinary people,” she said.
“On this journey, practitioners learn to proactively deny the persecution, look inward, and identify their attachments. They do not neglect Fa study or sending righteous thoughts. They coordinate and cooperate in projects, harmonize as a whole, and awaken people's consciences using the Fa’s wisdom,” she said.
Many of the experience-sharing articles were written by elderly practitioners who learn complicated technology in order to produce flyers, calendars, and DVDs to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa. This especially impressed Cristina—not only does learning technology and operating it pose a great challenge, but in possessing this knowledge, the practitioners put themselves at greater risk since the CCP tends to target practitioners who produce informational materials.
“In those practitioners’ experiences about clarifying the truth, their selflessness, altruism, courage, and very strong faith stand out. Practitioners put their mission and others before themselves, set aside their personal interests, overcome difficulties, and risk their lives. They are driven by an unwavering faith in Master,” she said. “Many practitioners realize that when they want to do something, or participate in a project, Master opens their wisdom and arranges the opportunity.”
Cristina said the article, “Cultivation Opportunities While Talking to People About Dafa Face to Face,” was very moving, as it tells of a practitioner who had to overcome their fear to finally be able to speak up and tell people the facts about the persecution. She said this article motivated her to look for opportunities to raise awareness of the persecution.
Becoming a Better Practitioner Parent
Solange said the China conference articles are, “A great incentive for me to do well the three things that Master asks of us and to follow Master’s guidance by detaching myself from the old universe’s self.”
Like Cristina, she feels that the practitioners in China show incredible courage and resolve in how they continue to uphold their faith and fulfill their goal to get the truth about the persecution to more Chinese people. Solange is inspired by how practitioners in China, “Face persecution with righteous thoughts,” and how they, “Assimilate to the Fa,” in their daily lives.
Raising children is a challenge faced by many practitioners outside of China, said Solange, and it can often be hard to maintain a cultivator’s standard when children are being rebellious or difficult. However, one article from the China conference, written by the daughter of a practitioner who became a practitioner herself, was very inspiring to Solange. The article was titled, “Master Was Always There For Me Though I Strayed for a Long Time.” The author said that even though she wasn’t always diligent in her own cultivation, her practitioner mother was always patient with her and kindly hoped that she would return to cultivation.
“Like many parents who are cultivators, this experience shows that we must follow Master’s guidance and detach ourselves from qing,” said Solange. She added that as practitioner parents, it’s important to do what is right morally and not get carried away by your own emotional attachment to the child.
Seeing Commonalities in Cultivation
Ticiane found two of the China conference articles particularly enlightening. The first, “Undeterred by Huge Tribulations, I Can Let Go of Life and Death,” describes how a practitioner analyzes the various causes of the tribulations she faces in cultivation in order to overcome them. For Ticiane, this practitioner’s reasoning, which was based on the Fa, helped her see other ways of looking at situations and resolving challenges. “Sometimes the reasons are broader than what we are thinking. The cause isn’t just always karma,” she said.
The article written by the young practitioner, “Master Was Always There For Me Though I Strayed for a Long Time,” was also very eye-opening to Ticiane. When the author described her own experience of being surrounded by the temptations of ordinary society, Ticiane realized that she held certain notions—that Chinese practitioners had it “easier” in cultivation. She thought that they would have a better understanding of the Fa because they understood Chinese, and that because Falun Dafa originated in China, it would be easier for Chinese people, who come from the same culture, to understand it and be diligent in cultivation.
But from the author’s journey of how she strayed from cultivation and ultimately returned, Ticiane learned that cultivation is truly based on how well a person can understand the teachings of the Fa in their heart and how well they can act according to it, and not any external factors. “Cultivation is more related to each person and his or her path, rather than the environment,” she said.
